How do I get rid of small sticker weeds in my yard?

I live in the south (Arkansas) and found a nuisance weed in my yard, grows about an inch or less high, has small small leaves, and STICKERS. OUCH! When I kneel down or lay down on the grass, I get poked with these stickers. I didn't even know they were there until I did so. How do I get rid of these buggahs!??

I live in the south, too, and have problems with stickers (sand burrs). I can swear by a product called "Image" weed killer. It will kill the stickers and other undesirable weeds, without hurting your grass. It is recommended that you spray them before the stickers "ripen". But I've used it all times of spring and summer, with great success. I also noticed a great reduction of stickers in my yard the next year.

Please don't use Roundup for this purpose. It will kill everything it touches, including your grass and shrubs.

The only way that we have found to get rid of them is to mow on the same day of each week. The "stickers" are actually seeds and if you don't keep the plant mowed it will produce the sticker-seeds. Water your yard after you mow to make the grass grow and over take these weeds. It will take about two summers to get rid of these stickers and plants.

There is a chemical with the active ingredient 2-4-D Amin Salt-720 gm SL. It is applied at a rate of 50mls/15 litres of water. it is selective for stubborn broad leaves but does not kill grasses. Please use it to spray the sticker weeds with a knapsack sprayer and your problem is solved.

Go to Wal-Mart and get some Round-Up weed killer. This will get rid of them.
Or you can run around the yard digging them up.
