I have quite a small bathroom and am hoping to have it painted and tiled soon. The bathroom suite is white. I was thinking of having white tile with maybe barley white painted walls or do you think that will look too clinical or too white?

the other thing i was thinking is white painted walls with either navy tiles or maybe white tiles with intermittant turquise tiles??

Suggestions please....

i was browsing through the ikea catalogue and i spotted a lovely themed room, with deep purples and oranges. I fell in love with it, but as we all know- in a catalogue EVERYTHING looks great, but with my mess and all my stuff it might not be so clean cut. What d'you guys think? A good choice for a bedroom? The bedroom is big with a massive window, so theres lots of colour. Maybe i should use the light and go for very light colours?

I live in an old house and evrytime we flush the toilets they make hell of a noise. The landlord came twice but I doesn't seem to bother him.The problem is that our neighbourgh who live downstairs hears eveything.
Any idea of where it comes from ? is it because there not enough water running in the pipes?

When the roses bloom, I like to cut them and put them in vases. My husband does not want them to be cut. I have told him that you need to cut them in order for them to keep blooming. Is this correct?

I recently moved to rural France where abandoned at the back of the barn was a Briggs and Stratton single cylinder petrol rotavator.
I have been on the web but of course on the B/S site you have to live in the US to get an answer.

There is no spark.
I have had the plug out. Gap by eye seems ok.

No sign of a spark at all.

Took off dust cover. Removed Coil which is wrapped around a laminated core.

This device is what I believe the Americans call a Magnetron.
Cleaned up everything. There is a magnet embedded in the flywheel. Still seems quite powerful.

There are three wires coming from the coil plus the HT lead. Two of them are twisted and soldered together and end in an earth lug.
The other which I believe is the stop wire broke off close to the coil. Its too close to risk trying to re-attach.
The stop switch is not mounted directly on the Magnetron but on a plate near the end of the Throttle/ stop cable.

The wire from this disappears into the crankcase

I just fixed a clog in my bathroom sink by taking off the p-trap. I had turned off the water valve beforehand, and when I was done I turned it back on. After this, all that came out of the faucet was a trickle. Turning the valve in the off position does not stop the trickle.

When I first turned the valve off before taking off the pipe, the valve was not turned all the way left or right. It was in the middle, but the water flowed fine. When I turned the valve all the way to the right, the water shut off at the faucet.

My apartment is pretty old. Is this valve most likely broken?

This involves a small jar that is placed in the cistern of your toilet and cleans, disinfects and deodorisers your toilet in every flush. I would come and service it every 3 months, would you like to have this and how much would you be prepared to spend.

HELP! I just fixed a clog in my bathroom sink by taking off the p-trap (the u-shaped pipe) underneath it. I put everything back right and turned the water back on. When I turned on the faucet, I just get a little trickle of water!!

What does this mean? Do I need to retighten the pipe? Or do I have to have the water turned on a special way. When I turned it off, I noticed the knob was not turned all the way to the right. It was about part way. HELP!! I need water. I need to get to bed. My husband is going to kill me. :(

The route I need would be through interior walls. The attic space is above the 2nd story. I'd rather not remove sheetrock to route the cable. I'm wondering if there is some tool that would help.

My husband bought me one of those lucky bamboo plants that come in a vase like container with water and small stones in it.

Recently one of the stalks of bamboo has turned yellow on the end like its dying. Its not that it doesnt have water and there's still plenty of room in the vase for the roots.

What do I do?

Since it is a condo I dont have to worry about yard stuff. Primarily I want to know kitchen things you really do use (I lived in a dorm through all of college so I couldn't really have any kitchen gadgets). I also would like to know what other objects do you wish you had when you first moved out.

Which wall in a room should I use for the accent color? It is for several rooms in my new house where most of the living areas are open to each other. I want it to pop with the colors but they need to flow smoothly from room to room. The main color of all the walls is a very light creamy honey. I want to put a shade of purple in the dining room, a chocolate in the library, an apricot in the breakfast nook/kithchen, burgundy in the great room and navy in the bedroom (match the comforter pattern color). Will that work or is it too choppy?
