How do I choose a sump pump what do I need to take into consideration? If possible I would like one with multiple speeds which matches the amount of water the one which is there is not emptying the water table it is quite highabout an inch below the bottom of hole, it is about 40 years old we think as it looks like the system was installed with the house it is either that or they put a whole new concrete floor in when they did it over.

Well, I'm new to rural life, and I'm really hoping to help the environment as well as our lawn!
We have a four-by-six foot sink in the lawn out back that we would like to fill in and cover over...
OK, I want the fertilizier; he wants to cover it.
Anyway, can we use all kitchen scraps?
Are eggshells too smelly?
Can we use hair clippings?
Styrofoam? (I hear it's good for drainage; maybe it'll hep the rain sink the nutrients down before we cover it.)
I'm guessing leftover garlic is a bad move...
And, how often do you turn it?
Thank you for all your help and ideas!

My washing machine was installed about six months ago (a Zanussi, in case that's important). Recently, it's started discharging water into the waste pipe faster than the waste pipe can drain it. I have (I think) a p bend between the vertical waste pipe and the sloping horizontal one that takes the water away. Has anyone else had this problem? I've taken the three pipes apart and checked for blockage but no joy. Help!

I have put Draino in it 4 times in the last 2 months. Can someone tell me how to get this drain clean and working short of calling a plumber?

The repair shop wants to charge me $100 because they claim I put the wrong type of oil in my lawn mower. The mower would not start before I added a little oil, so I don't know if this will fix the problem anyway. I don't think it was the wrong type, but am not 100% sure. The mower is under warranty another year.

I have this doll that was placed on top of a cover to one of those airwicks. The airwick wasn't on but I guess the cover was enough to do some serious damage to the doll, it stinks! We soaked it and then washed it a few times, we let it soak in vinegar and then wash it and still, the smell is pretty strong. Any suggestions??

Is it against code in Texas to have your electric panel inside a bedroom closet in Texas? We are told it has been "grandfathered", but it looks new. Anyone know the electric codes in Texas?

Any good way to get depressions out of a rug? I think I'll try ironing them out but if anyone knows of any other means, please let me know. I recently have some old furniture removed from a carpeted room, which left deep depressions in the carpet.

I just ordered some flowers online and I was wondering if it would be better to put fertilizer in the soil before the flowers arrive, or if I should wait to put it in ground when I plant the flowers. Also if you could suggest a good fertilizer that would be great. I live in Tennessee if that matters.
