Some of my plants are not growing tall (e.g. Avacado, Areca Palms). Should I dig them out and move to a deeper hole? Will it help if I just add more soil on top without moving them?

Now that winter is upon us, my husband likes to have the heating on all the time. Unfortunately it is split cylce and it just blows hot air out. It's so drying and I find it really uncomfortable and my skin feels so tight and sore. I think I should get a humidifier. I know there are the Vicks ones, but is there anything bigger that can be recommended.? Where can I get one (I'm in Australia)? I called Clive Peeters and they said they didn't stock them. Am I the only one with this problem? My husband says he doensn't feel any discomfort and I must be a frog.

We recently purchased a black bedroom set, which we love. We also got new bedding-- dark blue paisley with some tans, creams, orange, and lighter blue. Our carpet is cream. We have a vaulted ceiling area. The walls are currently off-white, which we want to change. We like to try different paint techniques and ideas. Are there any suggestions?

I hear from some to mix a little sugar in the powder and that will help make the boric acid tasty to the roach. i hear they take it to there nest and it this kills the eggs too. is this true? I am seeing 2 or 3 roaches every other day and wan to start taking care of this issue before it gets worse. i also been told to mix it with water and leave it out for they roaches look for somethign to drink. is that a good idea as well? i put a bit of the boric acid sugar mix under my kitchen sink and i tried to pour some in the cracks between the stove and dishwasher
i also sprayed regular insecticide on my counters and sink and along the floor by the sink.

I woke up an had an ice cold shower this morning, because my water heater's circuit breaker had tripped and cut the power. Thinking back, my hot water was only warm on Monday morning, and we had a big lightning storm on Friday that was messing the electricity. Could it really have taken 3 1/2 days for the water to drop to room temperature?
The heater holds 52 gallons, and of average efficiency/insulation for a 5-year-old heater. How long would one expect in order to lose all the stored heat for that size of tank?

I currently have a chain garage door opener. Can I go to my local B&M store and buy a belt or screw drive opener and swap it with my current one with no problem? Will I need to change anything else on my garage door? For example, the center rail where the chain/pulley is housed... how will this work with a belt system? Is a new rail included with the new opener?

Thanks
