The old tile is a ca. 4in square tile with scrolled edges, and the new tile is to be 12x12.
Does the old tile need to be scarfed (roughened up), and is there a chemical that does this?
Please answer only if you have done tile on tile installation successfully. THanks

My gardener sprayed my lawn and instead of killing the weeds he killed the grass! Without rototilling the entire lot will seeds alone be enough, with lots of water?

I once saw in a magazine that you can add plumbing without cutting into the slab. Yet I have not been able to find anything else on it. It was in a contractors magazine. If anyone knows anything please let me know.

Today I was working on cleaning out someone's basement. I was cleaning a small crawl space next to the sub pump. I noticed that this crawl space had two large square openinings on each side. Thinking they were just random holes I filled them with foaming sealant because he has an infestation problem. Upon finishing my cleaning I then noticed the sub pump running and a very large amount of water running into this area bringing with it all kinds of dirt, leaves, and insects. Naturally, destroying everything I had just occomplished. Now there is a lake in this crawl space and no explaination. Even more bizzarre is that it has not rained for a month and it is extremely dry. Is it normal? What is it? Why is it? How is it? Thanks for your help.

The hole in the ceiling where the cable comes down is not sound. It's difficult to get raw plugs in. The ceiling in general is sound and infact newly plastered but cable hole is brittle and too big. The hole needs to be filled somehow...

Any advice gratefully received.

We had a new deck put on our house and the guy who built it, also stained it - badly. It was all drip marks and uneven, just not good. He said he'd fix it by powerwashing it - he did powerwash it, but now its worse. The color is still uneven, there are still drip marks and worst of all, there are big rough patches with huge splinters, etc. The "deck guy" is gone and won't be back. What's my best option at this point? Can I sand the deck down to get ride of the rough spots and then prep it to restain? Its a mess and needs to be fixed!

I am turning my living room into a studio to give pole dancing lessons but i just can't seem to find full length and very wide mirrors, nothing fancy or too heavy.I'd prefer them to have no frame, like the ones used in big fitting rooms.
Thank you :o)

How often should lime be spreaded out on lawns?

I put some out about four weeks ago, at the same time that I started my spring overseeding. And everthing is great, except for the fact that I have mushrooms popping up every where. I've already gotten the answer to that question, from a previously asked question. And so I decided to give my yard a good raking and a nice clean cut. Now, I'm thinking about putting some more lime down, in order to balance out any potential rot in the soil. But since I've already put some down, four weeks ago; I'm wondering am I doing too much.

How do I get rid of whatever bug is making tracks on the leaves of my Tomato plants. It looks like a very thin film of little light colored trails I thought at first it was just water stains but it appears to be trials like would be left by an insect of some kind with dirty feet. What is making these tracks on my leaves and do I need to get rid of and if so what insecticide or organic remedy will work? Should I put Dawn dish detergent on the leaves of my Tomato plants?
