I'm trying to totally clear a part of my yard that is under a tree. The ground is covered with weeds and is basically a thick weed wasteland right now. If I put down roundup to kill the weeds and everything else, how long will it before I can get anything else to grow in that area? Will it also kill the tree?

I recently just purchased a brand new hose. The plastic threaded ring part at the end that you screw into a nozzle cracked and fell off. All I have now is bare hose. How do I replace the plastic part at the end, and can I replace it with a metal one?
Thank you for your help!

Just got a bonsai plant from the mong kok flower market here in hk and i am not sure if it is a bonsai plant or not..

I looked at a lot of bonsai plant pics on the internet and none look like the one i have up close. The main part of it seems to twist around and there are branches making it resemble a miniature tree. But like i said, i have not seen any other bonsai plant like it in the searches I have done. Could it be some other plant that resemble a bonsai plant or is it just some chinese type of bonsai that can only be found here in hong kong?

I don't wash the dishes, so this is probably a stupid question but, I opened the dishwasher while it was on, and all that came out was steam. Do dishwashers use steam to clean?

We moved into a house where the floor in the laundry room in the basement sits about 4 feet off the floor. The drain for the washer, due to the slope of the pipe and distance from the drain is at about 5.5 feet. The drainage tube from the washer had to be extended to reach the opening. Would this be the reason the clothes are still soaked after going through the spin cycle 3 times!? It seemed to start happening only after we moved.
Any help would be great.

I'm growing strawberries this year. I have an everbearing plant which is growing well. I read that I'm supposed to pinch the blossoms until late June. Should I do pinch off just the blossoms, or the whole stem holding the blossoms? Is it best to do this when the blossoms first appear as buds or to wait until they have opened? What exactly does this do for the plant and how does it help to have better strawberries later? Should I do this every year with the plant?

My front lawn is green, however, my backyard lawn has a good deal of brown on it still. My neighbors lawns are currently all green. Last year we had a small portion that was brown so I raked up the dead grass and threw down some grass seed and it was fine a few weeks later.

This year though, I would say like 50% is still brown, I have fertilized and put lime when I was suppose to. Not sure if perhaps I put too much lime and cause damage?
Appreciate any feedback.

Do you have any little-known household hint?
