Depending on the size of your sprinkler system and how many zones will be used at one time, you need to make sure your water supply is sized correctly. This includes pipe and meter size. Undersizing would not allow the system to push enough water out to properly use the system.

Are you speaking of a fire sprinkler system? The rules for these are complex, and installation skills are needed. In some locations, it is not legal to install your own. Talk with your fire department.

Your water purveyor will have information on the meter size and the pressure available at the meter.
