I have a tiny little garden plot in an odd place in my backyard. It has lots of problems that are not easily fixed from a gardening standpoint. After much trial and error, I finally decided to fill the whole thing in with pea gravel and put planted containers on top of it. I have quite a bit of polished river rock from another project and was wondering how I could use the polished river rock in this space with the gravel. Should I just place pieces randomly or pile it up along the edges? I am open to any ideas. Thanks!

For my wedding I would like to have a wildflower bouquet using native or organically grown flowers. I've contacted a local organic farmer who will sell her flowers to me. She has "prairie flowers" (central IL), cosmos, zinnias, and sunflowers. What types do you think will look best and hold up as cut flowers in a bouquet?

I have a project for math that involves making an office related to my career choice.

As I am in International Business and Marketing I chose to do a marketing firm, modeled after a real estate workplace.

My plan is this picture:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/dark_illusi0ns14/Scan0003.jpg?t=1178669922

The picture isn't to scale or anything, but it's basically what it should look like. I can do the math and figure out the walls' area, etc, but I can't figure out what to make it out of.

It's a solo project, so I'd like some suggestions on how I can survive this 6-grade project.

The blades are not broken what can the problem be? I don't understand and we got the lawnmower looked at and they said nothing was wrong! Every time we engage the blades to cut the grass there is a tremendous vibration. It vibrated the belt loose. What can the problem possibly be?? Please let me know any information that you might have on Troy Built riding lawnmower!!!!!!!!

We have ivy growing under/in the hedge between our house and the neighbors house. It's killing the hedge and the flowers, and it's hard to weed out the baby trees (the only thing that grows through it). It's also ugly. However, the ground slopes to the neighbors driveway, so we need something to prevent the dirt from eroding onto their driveway.

It should look reasonable year round, stay low and not choke the bushes, hold back the dirt well, and allow bulbs to bloom through it.

On This Old House, Roger had a chainsaw looking blade with 30ft of rope on each end and a bean bag so he could toss it over a high limb and use the rope to drag the chain back and forth to cut limbs that are too high.

I can 't find one of these. I have tried TSC, Menards, Ace, etc.
Does anyone know for certain where I can find one of these? can I just snip open an old chain saw blade? Thanks.

those stupid blades on an 8ft pole won't go high enough.

We are putting weeping tile around the perimeter of our foundation INSIDE the house. (It's 180 years old and finally gettting a cement floor) Do we lay gravel under the weeping tile and over it? Which way do the holes on the pipe go to the top or the bottom? Thanks.

I've had no calls so far. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago. Mls # 06494525 My realtor is coming back out to retake pictures for the listing. We're priced under most homes in the neighborhood. I know the market is slow, but I'm suprised at the lack of calls. It's 4bedroom 3-car garage. 6yrs old. For those of you that are selling, how many showings are you getting?

I've planted lillies (dried up quick) and now a more hearty shrub in an strip of soil around my patio, but despite the description on the label, the sun seems to be baking them to death, even if I water them daily. Would placing a soil cover like bark chips or mulch help to keep the soil beneath moist?

Mainly my used dishwasher but also for future reference a frig, micowave and oven. I would like to donate them but the salvation army won't take the dishwasher and I'm not sure who else to ask. I also don't want to pay a junk collector to pick it up.

We ordered a truck full of soil from a place in town and they brought us clay, bad soil. What can I do to make it good?

We have goats and dogs. If we mix in some of their poop will it make the soil richer? What about mixing in ashes from burned leaves and branches?

Please give me all you can but keep it cheap.
