At this time of year, gnats release from their winter homes. You cannot use any spray on them, but you can stay protected by using OFF! bug spray. They mainly head for sweet things like fruit, candy, and sugary soft drinks and items.Good Luck!

I suspect you have a lawn.......gnats are coming off the thatch layer on the soil surface in the lawn. They love the decomposing organic layer. If you remove the thatch layer either by hand raking or renting a power rake......or hiring someone, the gnats' home will be removed. Of course this isn't going to help if they are coming from a neighbor's lawn.

In the mean time try soapy water. Get a hose end sprayer...they are fairly cheap....put in dishwashing liquid (I'd probably dilute it 50:50 with water) and soap down your lawn. I suggest rinsing after a bit.......oh , maybe 30 minutes. Don't do this in day's heat, do in early a.m. or near sunset.
