Been reading an article on how estate agents manipulate property valuations for their own gain >> http://www.theadvisory.co.uk/property-valuation.php

Does this happen alot and does anyone know any property valuation websites I can use to get a good idea of my flats value?

I need to drill a hole through an external cavity (insulated) wall to feed a telephone wire through. Can someone tell me how I should do this - what equipment do I need (drill/bit)? - do I drill inside out or outside in? - do I drill at an angle or straight? - do I need to put any type of sheathing around the wire? Anything else I should know??

I want to get a builder in to knock down the wall between our lounge and dining room. Can anyone tell me if the whole dividing wall can go or do you need to leave a very small bit of the wall at each edge? The reason I want to know is that once the two rooms are one there will be an expanse of wall between the fireplace in what was the dining room and the fireplace that was in the lounge. I want to put a big free standing sideboard in this space but cant if there is still a bit of the wall sticking out.

Is there a website that I can go to and look at the asking price for houses that are for sale on my street? Zillow does not show houses that I know are for sale and other real estate websites have me search by zip code or city... i just want my street.

The house is a beautiful Georgian terraced ground floor flat (actually a maisonette - bought for £250K last year). We have a fair-sized garden (about 42sq.m.), but only half of it gets the sun. The part of the garden next to the house is not dark, but does not get direct sunlight until the evening. Essentially, we do not use that bit of garden for anything. We have thought of adding a conservatory, which will measure about 7m x 2.5m. We appreciate the need to get it done properly, and expect to spend around £15K to £20K. Is it worth it? We don't think we'll be there for very long. It is more of an investment property than anything else. Any advice?

I have a little rock pond (it's empty) on the side of my back patio. I'm going to a nursery today to get plants, seeds, etc. I'm thinking about doing a little water garden. Can you give me some tips on plants that like moisture but don't really need full sun?

Last week we had a tremendous storm in the Northeast and my finished basement took in some water. I'm not too concerned since this was the most rain we've had in 15 years. The carpets are still a little damp and I have some mold forming on the drywall near the baseboards. This is the first time this has happened.

I put a dehumidifier down there and the room is drying up. How should I go about cleaning the mold? Aside from cleaning off the mold, what else should I be doing?

I have a couple t-shirts with logos on them that I'd like to remove. The shirts themselves are nice, but I do not care to promote the products that have the logos on the shirts. So is there something I can use to remove the logos easily from the shirts?

My next door neighbor has had a trash can sitting directly under one of his rain gutters as long as I can remember. I always thought it was to help control the flow of the water from his foundation. Then the other day he was out washing his car. I noticed that he would rinse the car off with the water from the trash can. When I asked him about it he said the water in the trash can did not have all the hard water compounds in it and he would always have a spot free rinse on his car when he rinsed it off with the rain water. At the time it made since but the more I started thinking about it I started to question if this was a true practice. Has anyone else, or does anyone else, do the same thing and have the same finding?
