This home was built in 1951. Believe it or not the trim boards are all full size 2" lumber. The facia boards are starting to dry rot. Can I scrape off the dry rot and put on a good primer and top coat and stop the rot from spreading. It is only rotting of the bottom outside edge. Is there a product I can use to retard the rotting. Please no silly answers

My condo has the original 1988 furnace and its working great, blower, heat etc.... Last year my central AC was changed b/c it was really bad, bad compressor, motor etc. So The repair man installed a new Coleman 10SER central AC in my condo. Labor 1 year, parts 5 year on the house. Its only less than a year and the blower motor is dead. He said he has to go get a new one to correct the problem. Heres my question now.

I am building on a 12 x 24 foot addition and it was recommended I pour a 6 inch deep 3 foot wide footing under the outside walls and build a "pony wall" on top of it. Will that be deep enough or wide enough for code?

I have no idea which setting to set the multi meter to? It has four different levels (one with a V and a line beside it with 3 dots under it - and A that is the same- then the ohm symbol and this V~ symbol ) and after I set it - there are four holes to plug into one a, the ohm symbol, the COM symbol, and the V symbol. I know that is a lot of crap but I am hoping someone that really knows about this stuff can give me some kind of idea as to what to set it on to test my dryer heating element! Please help!

I'm moving my dryer from outside to inside, so is there a maximum length a dryer vent duct can be? It will be about 45 ft. if i do it like it is now. I'm trying to do it w/o moving my vent hood. So is this going to be a fire hazard, and will it be up to code most building codes?

We are building a block foundation, and have found some of the blocks pushing in a bit. The structure doesnot seem to be in danger, ie there are no cracks. Wondering if we can just go ahead and connect the new block to the existing or if we should repair first. Also would need to know how to repair without taking the whole house down!! Thanks in advance for any help

I have this white shirt that I love and of course it was exspensive. Well someone in my house threw soaked towel in the laundry on top of it. Not know that this happened basically all of my white grew little green dots of mold. I am not so much worried about the other stuff because no one will see the under garments but this one shirt I am worried about. I have already washed it twice with bleach, stain stick, spray and wash, oxy clean etc, but nothing has work. Now I have not put it through the dryer yet so I know I still have a chance. Any and all help would be appreciate. This is my favorite shirt and would rather not replace it if I don't have too. Thanks....
