Yes. Most companies prefer that you use their brand so they can of course make more money but there are a lot of generic brands that work just as well as the name brands.

No, use the recommended because it breaks down the rubber seals if you don't. You will begin to get leaks. But my sister has used the off brand in hers.

No, it is a dry foam. If you use anything else in it you take a chance of messing it up.
