My gas fire is unsafe in the house I have just moved in to and I'd like to know when, and who installed it. The manufacturer label has been burned off and only a serial number is present. Can I locate a manufacturer?

My electric was off for a week while I was out of town; the apts fridge/freezer is infested BAD;how do i deal? Im talking fruit flies and baby tiny roaches. Thousands; they are now frozen/chillled again, and they have come out into the restof the kitchen, but what I saw when I bravely/stupidly opened the freezer..... rotted food, decomposing meat, millions of dead things and a smell that makes me want to camp out at the sewage plant. It's the apartment's fridge; im on my own. What do I do? Im screwed! Can I don a mask and clean it? with what? Anyone know what to do? Im not sure I could even pay for someone to fix this mess.... What a disaster!

When I pull my clothes out of the dryer [may be washer instead, I'm not sure] they have either pink or white bloches on the collar. It is NOT bleach. I use regular detergent and no fabric softener. Why am I getting stains? Any prevention methods?

Has anyone got this combination or seen it? I was keen on the black granite until I saw someone's kitchen last night and thought it made their room look dark. I want a really fresh modern look. Our preferred kitchen supplier can get the white or black very cheaply from an importer (but not other colours).

I'm a moron. Now that that's out of the way:

I was refinishing old furniture and used a minwax water-based stain. The first coat was barely there, so I did a second coat, which I know now was probably too heavy. At first it looked fine, but it eventually dried to a hideous dark brown, opaque, 70's brown color that left no trace of the grain. This took weeks of stripping and sanding - if I have to start over, these are going to goodwill before I make a bonfire out of them.

Does anyone know how to dilute/dissolve/remove water based stain? What I've tried so far (on smaller areas, undersides, etc):

1. Bleach
2. Ammonia
3. Mineral spirits
4. Paint stripper
5. Shellac/varnish stripper
6. Oxy
7. Grapefruit juice
8. Vinegar
9. Water
10. Liquid dish soap

This stuff will NOT come off or thin at all.Sanding looks even worse, even with a very fine grade.

Any advice is welcome.

There is a lot of "blistering" where paste was not laid and creasing. Thank goodness it is a woodland scene that hides much of the faults but I'm so much of a perfectionist. Is there any way to correct the errs - without ripping the panels off and ordering new one... that would be so spendy.
