Copper? Nope sorry guys, copper is going the way of the Dodo. CPVC and Copper though? Neither.....

The new thing is PEX, (Cross-linked Polyethylene). Its flexible, lasts forever, is corrosion resitant, chemical resistant and is cheaper. Also its not as noisy as copper, and can still handle hot and cold water.

PVC is the better choice and the newest thing out a lot of older houses in the north use copper and now are upgrading the copper tends to corrode after time and can cause big trouble

Copper is the best in quality. Had to redo my shower and the plumber told me best to use copper pipes.

The best stuff now is pex, it is flexible and installs easily, once the crimp is made it's guaranteed not to leak.
