We have a small garden area that is constantly overrun with what I call "velcro weed" because it sticks to itself and my clothing. It's the only thing in the garden to which I am allergic (have to wear gloves when pulling it). It is very thin, with long runners and has very small purplish-blue flowers. It covers everything once it's started and smothers the plants. What is it and how do I get rid of it, short of digging up the entire garden and/or spraying it with weed killer?

It has very shallow roots, fortunately, so I've been pulling it out of the lawn and garden beds, but as I said, I am apparently allergic to it, so I'd rather get rid of it using some other method, if possible.

I'm replanting a bulb bed and since it was so full of the Stargazer lily's last year I want to share them in other beds. I was suprised at how large the bulbs are but that I had so few for the amount of flowers I had the last two years.

yes, I'm new to this...

I am getting started on a backyard deck project. I will install footers in the dirt. The deck will be 18-24 inches off the ground. It will be about 150 sf and not attached to a structure. How far apart should my footings be? I am in Nor Cal where it rarely freezes and rains some but is mostly sunny. What is best wood to use? Is pressure treated OK? And how deep into the ground should my footings be? Any other thoughts? Thanks.

I planted some Dutch irises (Iris hollandica) a few years ago and they're coming up in clumps. Should I divide them up or leave them alone? And if I need to divide them, when's the best time?

I went on vacation and when I returned home my water pressure is nill. It seems normal, but when the washer machine is filling the kitchen and other faucets will barely trickle out until the washer kicks off. I know some lowered pressure is normal, but not like this. What could it be? I'm on a private well with a pressure tank system. The tank pre-set pressure shows it to be normal.

I want to buy a miter saw but just cant decide which one to buy.

I love the Dewalt 10" DW703 for $200. It feels very smooth and looks well constructed. However, it does not have laser guide.

My other option is Rigid 10" with laser MS1065LZ for also $200.

I have never used a miter saw before. I would think that the laser would make it much easier to line up the blade to the cut line?

I have these really expensive plastic ware containers that my brother left with some nasty food in it for quite awhile. I have thrown the food out but the containers still stink of it. Is there anyway to remove the odor without getting rid of the container?

I sold a set of cows online and UPS busted them in transit. Now they will not honor my claim unless I can prove how much they are worth. My problem is I bought them 5 years ago for $100 and don't have the receipt. If anyone knows of any link showing 4 ceramic canisters shaped like cows for about $100.00, please send it to me. Thank you.

it will be about half the size of a 2-car garage. (big enough for 2 turntables, 2 15" club speakers, with a little extra room for comfort)

I'm also researching this on the net, just curious as to what ya'll might advise....
Any suggestions would be great! Thank you! ;)
