everyone answering about satin and eggshell are are right about there being a slight difference, but it does differ from mfg to mfg the best paint i have come across is Sherwin Williams satin finish duration, It goes on like a satin paint but has the best sheen. It looks almost like a semi-gloss and cleans up like one. It costs a little more but it is definently worth it in the long run. I work for a painting contractor and he has tried just about every paint that there is and from my 6 years of working for him you will get the best results from Duration. Hope it turns out well for you.

Yes you can I just used it in my bathroom. Les the painter say eggshell and satin are the same, but there is a slight difference in sheen, satin being slightly shiner. You can get the same paint in any of 4 sheen's have even seen a paint manufacturer with 5 sheen's.

You can. The steam and moisture won't damage it. But it won't be as easy to clean as a semi-gloss if mold does appear. In some brands, satin is duller then eggshell. If that is the case for your paint, use the eggshell. You need to have some visible sheen.

Use a product called Perma-white. It's designed for high moisture areas such as kitchens and baths and is guaranteed 5 years against mold and mildew. It comes in Satin or Semi-gloss. I prefer the satin

red is a tricky color to use... my bathroom was a mess til the 4th coat! when we painted a wall in my son's room, we used primer tinted same color as paint... and only had to do a couple coats that time, worked MUCH better! be careful no to go over what you have painted while it is still wet... it will lift off the paint rather than apply more...

That kind of color will take a few coats to turn out looking the way you want. Usually a tinted primer is used first and then several coats of paint. Just be patient and it'll turn out fine.
