Use Barkeeper's Friend. You can find it in the cleaning section of the supermarket. This is a powder cleaner like Commet. Great to clean all stainless steal. Rust will come right out.

Try "Bar Keepers Friend" or "Penny Bright".
They're both like Ajax in their consistency, but they're made for stainless steel.I use Bar Keepers Friend on my Calphalon cookware (Calphalon recomends both products!),and the results need to be seen to be believed! You won't be dissappointed!
By the way....why would you abuse a cast iron skillet by leaving it in the sink overnight?! I hope soap never touches the poor thing!

if it is stainless steel then it is not supposed to rust. the water that made contact with the metal might trigger the rust colorant. if the rust is just outside of your fridge then try the turtle wax that you used normally for your car. that will do the trick. if the rust is inside then just get a warm water and soap, you will do a lot of scrubbing.

There is a new website I found recently and they have a whole section on preventing and removing rust for the inside of your home. They have evrything divided up so it's really easy to find what you need. Check under 'Home interior Solutions' and they have ways to remove rust!

Hope that helps

i had a similar stain and i used (its gonna sound odd) that purell stuff the antibacterial hand sanitizer, squirted some on the stain let it sit for a couple minutes then used a scrubby pad and water came right up. espically since it hadn't been there that long it came right up, basically i would think alcohal would do the same thing.

You buy some "Barkeeper's Friend" cleaner, it removes and shines up your stainless sink in minutes....
You may also shine up stainless with a little tonic water, works wonders.
Comet "Softscrub" works on ceramic sinks.

Soft scrub works for me. I am not completely sure if it will work on rust but usually it works on most sinks. Try it. I hope it helps.
