I recently got a dresser with mirror. It came with tape on the mirror, shaped like an X. I removed the tape, but still have some glue left behind. I tried plain windex and it did not work. Any suggestions that will not ruin glass??

I checked the washer and the little screen in the faucet thing on the end of the spout where the water comes out, but the hot and cold handles that you turn to get the water out...if you turn them tightly the water slows down or speeds up slightly..the drip slows or speeds up when you twist them, is this something we can fix or am i looking at a plumber here??

We have a GE top load washer and dryer - both are dying. The timer is going out for the second time on the washer and the dryer door won't stay shut. I think I want front loaders this time. I like the efficiency and the fact that they stack. However, I've been researching them online. Now I'm confused by all the information I've read. They all seem to be pieces of junk that break within a year! Does anyone have front loaders? What kind do you have and do you have issues with them? Who thought buying a washer and dryer could make you nuts?

Had a bit of a DIY disaster today. Decided to Secure a floor board and the nail went through the water pipe leading to water running in to the kitchen downstairs.

We called out our heating provider-The engineer remedied the leak by replacing the the part with copper piping and securing this with what i would a compression fitting/valve thingy (not very technical im afraid!).

After the engineer left we went to replace our floor boards but the fitting is quite large and now our floorboard wont lie flat.

We have also been told by a friend that the heating/hot water pipe has to be so many mm from the floorboard or this could cause major problems-obviously putting pressure on the pipe for it to crack in the future.

Does anyone know if this correct and can anyone offer any technical advice/solution?

I own my home in Shamokin Dam, PA and I am trying to see if some local building contractor would be willing to show me and help me put up a addition to my home ? I can only afford to do the actual cost of the materials. I am willing to work hard and to learn but I cannot afford to pay the going $63 - $86 per sq. ft rate contractors want for labor. Any suggestions.
Please e-mail me at poohandhunnypot@verizon.net Many thanks.
