She sometimes washes a shirt or two in a fully filled washer! It is a waste of energy and I am coughing up the bucks to pay the bill. I have been thinking about putting in a Coin-op washer and dryer like at the laundrymat..that way she will be discouraged to waste. Is this a good idea?

My basement is waterproofed from the inside and has a sump pump. However, on one wall in my basement, water is seeping through the cinder block and causing mold to form. This wall is located on the side of the house where the driveway is and the mold is located on the part of the wall that is directly below my side entry door. We have tried to stop water from entering by caulking around the house on the driveway side and underneath the entry door and have applied dry-lock masonry waterproof paint to the wall but the wall is still wet. I do not have water on the floor of the basement, just resting on the wall and causing mold to form. Is my interior waterproofing system faulty? Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

I've seen them several times. The kind that you light and then they take flight? Made out of paper bags and candles I think, but if you know how it's done, I'd love to know!

Part 1

Last night my brother (14) was alone downstairs playing a video game in our living room. He said he saw someone in our kitchen. He didn't get a good look but he ran through our family room to the stairs because he was so scared.

When he ran up the stairs he saw the person again in the kitchen. He raced through his room and knocked on the bathroom door which is between his room and my mom's room. She was in there cleaning the bathroom with the door shut. She let him in and he told her.

Part 2

Less than five minutes before this my mom was in her bathroom and had that door open to her bedroom, but her bedroom door was shut. She heard someone knock on her door and our dog whined at the door but when she opened it no one was there.

After this we went downstairs and found the front door unlocked (it had been locked).

Any ideas as to what could have happened? Nothing like this has ever happened to us before.

I have a real twin size canopy bed, but cannot find a top for it. I am not looking for the type of canopy that hangs from ceiling, but a top for a framed canopy bed. I have tried ebay and found only lots of the "freestyle" type.

I know it's not very cool, but I prefer cotton/polyester bed sheets to all cotton. Only problem--the blends all seem to be inexpensive sheets in boring solid colors or timid floral patterns. Do any of the high end linen manufacturers make sheets in cotton/poly?
