I am having trouble getting the smell of dog poop out of my carpet. I have scrubbed the carpet with a rug shampooer, but I can't get rid of the smell. This happened because the dog is just a Yorkie puppy. He now goes outside. I just can't get the smell out and it is driving me nuts. I'll try your ideas if you give them. At this point I am willing to try anything.

I recently stored left over tomato sauce in a new tupperwear container. When I went to use the sauce, I noticed that the acid in the tomatos had marked the plastic and no matter how hard it tried, couldn't clean the container. Any help how to clean the stains and better yet, how to prevent ruining any more.

We also wonder if there should be some sort of moisture barrier sheet under the luan than the installers are putting down. Our old wood floor is 3 feet up from the ground and we can't get under there to insulate without digging and big bucks. On a sunny day, you can see the ground through the cracks. I worry about the stove leaking gas if we have to take it out. Is it dangerous to do it yourself?

My countertop is looking pretty rough. Can I paint it? I just don't want to put something on it that isn't safe for foods being prepared, or something that is going to peel. Thank you.

Our living room is very, very noisy due to outside car traffic. At the moment we only have a 3mm thick glass (single glaze) in the window and it lets in all the noise. I am looking at paying a small king's ransom to have double glazing with 16.8mm acoustic glass from Pilkingtons put in. Because of the shape of the window alcove secondary glazing is not an option. Does anyone know if it will work?
