I live in a city where the mains water is quite silty or sandy. Over time, it blocks up the water pipes so it gets to the point where the water pressure coming out of the taps is very low. Does anyone know if there is a product that can be added to the tank to :
a) clean out the pipes
b) solidify the silt before it gets into the pipes.

And/or, if there's a recognised method of clearing pipes by blowing air through them or something similar.
NB I live in Africa, so please don't be offering your plumbing services if you are in Europe or the US!

I understand the huge amount of work it can be, but I can get materials cheaper than "pre-fab" tubs and build something I REALLY want. I'm a decent woodworker, and building the frame with plywood walls should be no great challenge. My concern is being absolutely certain the tiles will be water-tight for years to come. Leaks just aren't an option, but neither is paying $400 for a stupid shower-tub!

We rent a older house from a couple. Last year we had termites and they had to spray . This year they came back. The termite company they went through had insurance if the termites did damage so they would have to pay. Now the landlords are saying that they don't have the money to repair the house and they want us to leave. Can that happen? What should we do? Serious answers only!!!!!!!

I painted my room about 3 years ago this beautiful color blue and I need to retouch bad but when I retouch it the paint is glossy while the rest of the old paint is dull. Is there a way to dull the paint or am I going to have to repaint the whole room?

Also if I do have to repaint the room and decide to change colors how many times can you repaint walls before they need to be stripped. I am afraid of putting too many layers on the wall. Also my walls have the popcorn texture.... not sure what its actually technically called.

My house has aluminum siding on the gables. It appears the aluminum has oxidized and covered some of the brick below this gable. I have tried Miratic Acid, Oven Cleaner, and an assortment of other cleaners but no luck, not even a little is removed. The aluminum siding is white and it appears that when it rained, something from the siding ran onto the brick.

I use one of those 2 in 1 detergent-shine shield combos in my dishwasher but no matter how clean the dishes I put in the machine I get a few silverware covered in rust like brown spots. There is nothing wrong inside the washer as far as I can see. Any ideas for the cause or cure?

A family member gave me an old headboard/footboard with matching lamp that are made of, what they told me, wormwood. I tried searching wormwood but found nothing really saying what wormwood is besides a plant and liquor ingredients. It's an old beautiful piece. Is wormwood called something else now? Any ideas about it?

Is there any way to fix the damage I caused to my favorite sweater? It was ready to go to the dry cleaner and I tossed it in the machine on extra-care wash with my other delicates. The fabric is a viscose/rayon blend. It has definitely shrunk and the seams seem to be puckering at the shoulders. Is it gone forever?????

I recently accidentally "wrapped" my string trimmer line around my small young just planted mimosa tree and wripped off alot of outer skin bark. Now the tree's inner wood is starting to dry out and kill the tree. Is there anything I can wrap around it to save it? Is there anything I can do? Help me PLEASE
