Is there any way to fix the damage I caused to my favorite sweater? It was ready to go to the dry cleaner and I tossed it in the machine on extra-care wash with my other delicates. The fabric is a viscose/rayon blend. It has definitely shrunk and the seams seem to be puckering at the shoulders. Is it gone forever?????

I would let it dry flat and try to stretch it out. Viscose is a natural polymer, spun into yarn and rayon is a plant based fiber, spun into yarn, so its like cotton. I think if it shrank, its shrunk for good :( sorry.

you may try chilly water and Woolite on the mushy cycle. I unfold a pair of tub towels on a flat floor (one the place you will no longer would desire to pass it for a pair of days) I lay the sweater flat and that i attempt to shape it and get the wrinkles out whilst it is moist. day after in the present day I turn it over, so it could dry on the different facet. as quickly as I cling it up, I cling it on a padded hanger so as that the shoulders are not getting those cloths hanger marks in them

So sorry, but once a Dry Clean garment has shrunk, there is very little to do. Yeah, your sweater is forever gone.

The only thing to do (and it might not work) is to lay it flat on a towel and try to stretch it back to its original size and shape. You have to do this while the garment is wet, so if it has dried, dampen it.
