A friend had a house fire and the dolls are covered in soot just wondering if anyone would have any info on how to safely remove the soot without damaging the porcelain dolls.

It seems that all the new fridges have smaller compressor motors that run faster and make a very annoying high-pitched sound.

Does anybody know of a brand and/or model of fridge that uses a larger, slower turning compressor motor like they used to use?

I tracked down the company from taking it off the house to Variform. However this company no longer makes this siding. People who have it in a box want to charge $180.00 a box for it. All I need is one section. It comes in a savana blue. I tried GP (george pacifc) however it is too dark. I really just want the colors to match. Do you guys know about painting it or what..... What would be the normal route from here. I don't want to take any from the back of my house either.......

I have mostly sandy soil, but some areas are kinda clayey. I have sunny spaces and shady spaces. I am planning on using 2 different types of seeds for the shady and sunny areas. I live in Oklahoma - zone 6 if that matters. We have planted grass seed before but it is really mostly dirt now and we are planning to really plant it heavily this fall and lay hay on top of it to keep it there (we live on a hill). Any suggestions of what type to use or where i can go to research what i would need?

I was sweeping my kitchen floor this morning and found in two seperate areas little "worms". They were about half an inch long, white with a darker area on one end. Any ideas?

We lost power for 5 hours one night. When we woke the next morning my self cleaning oven was in lock. It is an electric oven with a ceramic cook top. I think it is about 20 years old. The oven is operated by buttons and one dial to set temps and times. When the clean button is pressed, the oven locks. Then you set the time and duration at the oven does the rest. I ran it through the clean process, with the racks locked in, hoping that it would unlock when the process was finished. It did not. Any suggestions. I cannot find the book.

My husband and I are looking to build a home in a newer subdivison that has homes
1) on a large lake (so we can dock our boat),
2) has mountains in the background,
3) is in a town with a great school system (we have two small children),
4) has homes from 5000 square feet and up,
5) has a young population (around 30-40).

I am thinking is will need to be near Ashville, NC. Are there any subdivisions you would suggest we start looking?
