Soak it with vinegar.
Take a STURDY paper towel, completely soak it with vinegar, and lay it over the area for at least an hour. This will help to dissolve the limescale.
Remember to close off the area if you have any children or pets because you don't want them sniffing or licking the vinegar!

I use AquaKlean. It's the best heavy duty cleanser I've found. My husband uses it in his body shop to remove grease and grime. It's a concentrate so you mix how strong a solution you need. Use hot water to mix and use a scouring pad to apply. Buy it online.

mr. clean magic eraser (or the generic ones at the dollar store). works pretty good. after it is clean, apply car wax and you won't have that problem for a while. i re-wax about 3 times a year. in the meantime, everything pretty well wipes off.

use vinegar as suggested don't use any product that contains a caustic substance as this will react violently with aluminium.(coke is not abrasive it contains phosphoric acid)
