I'm moving into a new house and the previous owners placed those skid proofing decals in the bathtub. I've allready got a suggestion of using a hair dryer to heat it up and then peel it off. I don't want to damage the tub. Thanks.

mine were given to my parents for a wedding gift in 1941. they are oval and depict small children or cherubs . They are white on a background color of soft blue green. I saw similar ones on an auction website and I believe it referred to them as Panolith but they were a different shape and subject. Thanks for any help. Kay

Random question, I know. I am wanting to use a mousetrap with bait (like money, or iTunes gift card, or something) to tempt my high school students (as part of a lesson plan). It could be really funny if the mousetrap actually goes off on one of their fingers, but would this cause serious damage? Anyone have experience in this?

I want to build one day, despite people's objections; I'm an Architectural Draftsman and feel the desire to live in a house I designed by me; has anyone ever done so; I've heard and met people who have but not of their adventures through their project. What is it like? Was it worth it? I would like to build in the country side; semi-rural: it snows up there. I will be living alone w/ pets. I would like natural building materials such as stone, timber; even concrete masonry units; would like a basement and attic; two story structure; of the Italian villa style/cabin or contry cottage. I would love to do some painting up there and have a library and home office; a car shed, two-car garage; and a room for my collections of items of the history and weoponry; I would like the house to be a family freindly home: to gather relatives in times of reunion or yearly tradiditon, having for them rooms to stay the night(s).

Do you buy them just because you like the design, because you feel they are the best to use, or simply to just match your kitchen decor?

I have an old house and recent found a spot on my ceiling where there is a watermark. upon prodding through i see that the spot where the large cast iron drainage pipe that runs to the basement that connects to the 6" PVC bathroom drainage pipe upstairs has developed a small leak. There is a small spot where this white stuff (looks old) has chipped off and that is where the leak is coming from. Nothing major, but still a drip....drip....drip...enough to ruin the drywall, and enough to be fixed.

I need to know what kind of material (pvc cement, caulk, etc) i would use to seal up that joint, as ripping it all out isnt an option. Something that preferrably would set when its wet (if possible) as it seems to be nonstop dripping.

thanks for the help!

The G.E. dryer has worked great for years. In fact, I've never had a problem with it. Now it heats up like before, and continues to spin, but shuts down the heat after a short time so the clothes don't dry.
