North Louisiana, want to landscape around horse breeding barn, but what can I plant that is not toxic to horses. Would like to plant crape myrtles and bradford pears down drive way, but have a 750' concrete trough that runs along the outside of paddocks that I want to plant flowers in. Also plant hedges along outside of barn. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently had tile work done in my home and was told the work would be completed by a certain day which it wasn't, was told that the workers would arrive to do the work at certain times and they wouldn't show up til 6 hours later and then stay until 11 and 12 at night. the work that was "done" was poor and sub-standard to say the least, we have made several complaints to the owner and he is demanding final payment when they haven't even finished the job!! They didn't install caulk around showers, tub or the sink where they laid the tile and never installed the baseboard mold when "they've completed" the job. Our commode still won't work, we called and our phone calls aren't answered, then all of a sudden a week later the contractor calls and asks if the commode has been repaired and we reply no. He says to take $60 off the remaining balance!!! what is our legal rights in paying this contractor and/or allowing him/his workers to "fix" the problem(s). We don't trust their work and have been cursed out by the contractor, please help..any lawyers out there?

i've grown used to my toilet whistling for the past couple months. not sure why it does it but you can hear it fron anywhere in the house. if you turn a faucet on elsewhere, it will change the pitch. it facinates me. the only problems i'm having is recently i'll be taking a shower and then my toilet will just start running, causing the pressure to be lost in the shower as well as it turning scoulding hot (usually while i'm shampooing :( ) any ideas?

the Katrina aftermath of last year 2005, or is it just high humidity this year 2006? I have noticed mold growing in my garden in 5 to 12 inches of soil. I water only in the mornings every other day for 10 to 15 minutes on auto sprinkler system in no need of repair, but noticed quite a few neighbors watering at night. So is it funk or is it my watering habits gone so old it grows mold?

Whenever I empty my bathroom sink of water, it comes back up the bath - does drain away though.

Water drains away quite quickly - have used bleach and other products to unclog

Why do you think its doing this? What can I do to make it better without spending a fortune??

I like my place spotless and dedicate a lot of time to this end. I live in a loft, I have bamboo flooring which excludes me using regular polishes for sealed or hardwood floors. Also I've heard your not supposed to wet mop, or they warp.
Now I am on my hands and knees with a sponge and a bucket. But there has to be a better way, even the bucket and sponge doesn't get the shine I want...

I am running about 110 feet of wire to a small shed. What gauge of wire will be able to handle the load with a 30 amp breaker devoted to the shed? I have an air compressor, skill saw, router, miter saw, lights, etc.

i kinda jumped the gun on the last qustion i asked about making wooden wedding rings but there were a lot of great answers but none seemd to work i have been to allmost every store in chicago and no one seems to know what or understand what i am trying to do. i want to learn on how to make wooden rings, tools,machines,or just plane bits. and all the reseach on the internet has gone now were, so to my fellow woodwroks and others please help.

Four o'clock in the morning my doorbell rings. I open the door to see a towering police officer. He asks me if everything was alright. I asked him what was wrong. He told me that 911 was dialed from BOTH of our phone lines (business line, then home line). There is no one else in the house. He notified the phone company of the problem, but I'm not sure what sort of problem would cause that to happen.

How is this possible? Has this happened to anyone else?

I have tried to start it, and I can get it to start, but only by taking off the air filter, and manually limiting the amout of air going into the carb. When I restrict the amount of air going into the carb I can get it to run, but not smoothly. I made a restrictor plate for it out of plastic, and that got it to run, but it doesn't have enough power to cut grass, even thin grass. I had the carb looked at, and I was told that the carb was really clean inside, and didn't need rebuilding or cleaning.

I used to have a very dry basement, but recently I found there are some water got unferneath the basement carpet next to the wall after a very heavy rain.

Is it possible that the roof is leaking and the water got into the basement through the middle of the dry wall? No water stain seen in the wall though, at least for now.
