Didnt find a category for this: Old photograph from the 70's when the processing turned everything orange. What color matt and/or frame woulld work with a predominatley orange-y/red picture of a 2 year old boy. Its the only one I have. Is there a way to color correct this disaster? Thanks in advance!

There is no leaking problem, just build-up of moisture from winter, or exposure from leaving windows open, etc. I would like to sand the sill, then recoat with something to keep it matching with the rest of the window woodwork (which is 15 years old). I'd rather not refinish the entire window area, just the bottom sill.

i am painting my bedroom tomorrow. i personally love the colors i have chosen, but my family, Boyfriend and friends all think i am nuts. Now i am not chaning the colors because i love them, but i want to know if anyone agrees with me that the room will turn out very elegant and nice.
i am painting 3 walls a very soft fluffy grey. One wall a very dark chianti wine and the trim & window frame a very dark navy blue. My furniture is all painted black and will have brushed nickle handles and pulls. My bedspread is about a shade lighter than the wine colored wall and there will be a dark grey throw on the end of it. Am i the only one that thinks this will be a very elegant classy look?

I don't believe that the term I am looking for is used any longer but I believe it was common in europe some time ago.

I don't mean the water storage part for flushing. I mean the water in the bowl where the poo and pee goes.

I have three of them and i found them growing under a tree in the back yard. Origninally I thought they may have been orchids but now I am not so sure as they have long spindly type leaves growing our of bulbs at the base. The root system is complex and compact, similar to orchids, without much soil etc. Any clues would be appreciated.

How do you like them? Are they the quality you expected? Did you install them or pay to have it done? How long have you had them? Tell me if you would buy them again or shop elsewhere. Thanks!

I have recently purchased a home and the previous home owners painted with heavy latex and did not use a primer, therefore the paint is peeling off the walls in large chunks. I have removed all the paint down to the drywall but some of the texture came off as well and I need to repare that before I prime and paint. Just didn't know what product to use to make the texture. Can you help?

These spots showed up after a dinner party. I'm not sure if there was moisture involved, but they have the shape of bowls that were set down. The table is an antique oak thing, and has a darkish stain that is old and looks great except for the spots. The spots seem to come out with a little rubbing, but I am not sure if the finish is damaged. Is there a safe product or simple process for removing these stains without hurting the stain? As a hint, I think that the lady who owned this table used a lot of murphy soap, and we theorize that she improperly caked on too much of it...not sure that fact matters. Thanks for your tips.

Fairly large backyard area, light pet and foot traffic, full sun to partial shade. Soil will be commercial topsoil, can add whatever is needed (like fertilizer, pH adjustment, etc.) before planting of ground cover. Need very low maintenance planting, but we can water regularly. Will be using flagstone or paving stones for walkways and would like something that will fill in well between stones. Area is Silicon Valley, CA, so may experience a few days of very high temps in summer and one or two hard freezes in winter, but temps are generally mild all year. We like the look of Irish Moss and want something mat-like which will eventually be dense enough that weeding will not be an issue. We need something with a soft texture, as the family dog will be rolling in whatever gets planted as soon as we let him. Especially appreciate input from people who are using ground covers instead of lawn grass. Links to pictures with descriptions/requirements also appreciated.

I have strawberries, and normally they have fruit in early june. This year however, they are in a second flowering cycle and are producing fruit again!! Is this unusual? If so, what would cause this to happen?

We have been in our new concrete slab house for 15 months. My kitchen vinyl ripped and we noticed moisture underneath. The flooring people ripped up all the vinyl after confirming there was moisture in all the areas of the home covered w/ vinyl. Nobody can figure out why the moisture is there. They have checked for busted or leaky pipes, ran cameras in the septic system and drilled holes in the outside concrete to see if water was pooled underneath the slab with negative results. They think it my be "black slab" which means the concrete did not cure before the vinyl was laid. The concrete was grey prior to the vinyl being laid, but it is now black. I fear that is mold. The flooring people have brought out a moisture meter several times and the moisture levels are off the charts. They have brought in dehumidifiers to try and dry out the concrete which hasn't worked. We don't know what to do. If the concrete didn't cure properly, will it have to be repoured? Please help!!!

Help me please! I am completely stumped with trying to pick a color for the hallway, dining room, and living room. The hallway is small with 8 doors. The dining room is the largest room in the house with a sliding glass door letting in a lot of sunlight and the living room is very small with one large window that will have to have drapes because it faces the road. My boyfriend likes neutral colors, but I love all colors. Any ideas?

I removed 90 year old wallpaper in my living room to find unprimed (I think) plaster. The plaster walls are very smooth but are covered with a brown film that washes off easily with water. After repairing some cracks, washing, sanding, and priming the walls with a latex primer I am finding that the primer is not adhering to the walls. Once the primer dried I could rub my fingernail over the dried primer and it just peeled off the walls. Is this normal? Did it not dry properly? Should I have used an oil based primer or is there something else I should have done to prepare the old plaster for primer/paint?? Thanks.

A lot of people I've talked to have told me that with an apartment you pay rent each month that basically goes nowhere, whereas with a condo the money you put into it eventually ends on you owning the condo (kinda like a mortgage). Is this true?
