Help me please! I am completely stumped with trying to pick a color for the hallway, dining room, and living room. The hallway is small with 8 doors. The dining room is the largest room in the house with a sliding glass door letting in a lot of sunlight and the living room is very small with one large window that will have to have drapes because it faces the road. My boyfriend likes neutral colors, but I love all colors. Any ideas?

Where did you get the color? And plan on buying new furniture, so that isn't an issue.

I painted all the rooms in my house.
My living room and hallway is a soft beige color with more of a pink undertone to it. I just used strong accent colors
Kitchen is soft yellow/orange color accented with dark blue, red, and green
Bathroom is Terracotta on the walls, with accent color of khaki color
Spare Bedroom is sage green with purple and white accent colors
My room is a dark Khaki color with accent colors of red, green and golds.
I feel the rooms in my house all blend together but have their own feel to them

I'd paint your hallway light blue and dab white with a paint brush to make clouds. Then I'd paint your dining room yellow so it can absorb all that sunlight. If that has trim, paint it bright green. The living room you could paint maroon and sponge dark tan over it. Make sure you can still see plenty of the maroon though. If you have trim, make that tan as well. That's how our living room is. It's really cute. Then you can find cute accessories to go in each room. Target and Pier One has really cute things and you can catch some great prices too!!! Make sure he helps because it will be a fun experience for you both! Happy painting.

I just painted my living room and hall "Toasted Wheat" and I love it. It is a warm light brown. My living room is large and the hall is small with lots of doors and the color works for both. It also makes a great backdrop for all of the family pictures I have up. Not to mention it works with the white of our sliding patio door and the black of the speakers in the living room.
My mom just painted her dining room in two slightly different shades of gold (lighter above the chair rail and darker below.) It's beautiful in the formal dining without being stuffy.

The best way to find the right color is to first consider your furniture. What color wood to you have. Also what are the colors in your upholstery. Remember that the color of your walls can create different moods. Do you want bright and cheery or warm and romantic. Bright colors give feelings of energy while warmer colors tend to slow you down and create a cozy relaxed feel. And to answer your first question, Yes, I painted my guest room mint green with white furniture and floral accents and it has turned out to be my most favorite room in the house. It makes me smile every time I walk in there.

You might think this is a boring color but we painted the main rooms this "taupe" color that was like the color of coffee with milk in it. It turned out really lovely. Not to warm and not too cool. And it wasn't too neutral for me. It goes well with a color scheme of burgundy, black accents and a paler tone of the main taupe color.

yes, I paint my home lately. I used color depending on where part of the house located. I used yellow on my kitchen located in the SW, my bedroom located at East sides so I paint apple green, my living room on the South so I paint also green, my comport room located at North sides I paint light blue or even white is good and in the west also a bedroom I painted it white. It was cool believe me.
