I have strawberries, and normally they have fruit in early june. This year however, they are in a second flowering cycle and are producing fruit again!! Is this unusual? If so, what would cause this to happen?

Some strawberries are spring bearer's which means that they only produce fruit in the spring. Some strawberry plants are considered to be ever bearers, which means they produce berries at different times from June through September or frost. June bearers usually have a large crop all at once and ever bearers have smaller crops but for a longer time period. Enjoy your berries all season!!!

No it isn't unusual at all. If you have a particularly warm summer and correct moisture levels this can (and often does) happen. There are many places where strawberries regularly flower more than once.

high humidity can produce an agreeable amount of moisture which will promote the best growing conditions in many plants.

One variety of ours does that too but the other two we have does not so it is dependant on variety of strawberry.
