Currently I have GAS heating (Forced AIr) and it is very expensive. I do have a woodburning fireplace but only use it in the evenings when I am home. If the wood would last in there all day it would be fine.

I would like to eliminate the need for GAS heating this winter. I am considering electric space heaters, radiant space heaters, etc. I wonder if the costs of that could be less than with natural gas.

I would leave the temperate in the home at about 70 *F

I live in North East Ohio and the winter temps get to be in the 20's F, sometimes less.

If anyone has any suggestions, please!

We live in the bottom of a rental house. Both apartments have seperate heating systems. The upstairs neighbors smoke but we have never smelled the smoke. Today we have vast amounts of cigarette smoke coming in through our heating vents. We have the feeling they are trying to force us to move. Can the smoke somehow get into our vents or are they up to something?

My house was cooling pretty well a couple weeks ago. Last week, the breaker kept tripping. Through my home warranty company's ac guys, it was determined I'd get a new condenser unit. Though smaller, it's a 12 seer (as oppoosed to the older 10) so that's good, right? I was surprised by the size. Anyway, the installation was completed about 2.5 hours ago. The AC has been running since, cooling the house from aroung 86 to 82. Not a very big drop for two hours, right? The house seemed to cool faster before. It's been at 82 for an hour now, it seems my inside blowers aren't as strong as they used to be. Why? My $5 air filters are new, btw. It's 92 and humid outside, btw. Anyway, I noticed by outside condensate pipe (an auxillary pipe, I think) dripping. I was told my lines are likely clogged and/or my coil is probably dirty on the big unit in the attic. He says he'll clear the lines and chem clean the coils for $175, which seems darn good to me compared to other quotes.

We have some old latex paint - about 4 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket. When we opened it the liquid at the top was nearly clear and all the solids had settled to the bottom to form a nearly solid gooey mass. When I was stirring it, pool ball size chucks of solids would come up. We would like to use this on a woodshed so I'm not worried about it being perfect just resonably usable. My plan was to stir it a couple of times a day for a number of days, breaking the masses then strain it prior to use. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

The windows are expensive mahogany, each with a large single pane of glass but i think they're ugly and that small paned windows would make the house look prettier. Short of spending £30k on new ones (big house), has anyone experience of using simulated glazing bars to visually break up the existing panes?

Back in January of this year I had carpet installed with a leading home improvement store in our area. I have had nothing but problems with the install of the carpet. After 7 or 8 times the carpet does look better but is still not correct.
If anyone has had a problem with a home improvement store please email to me as I would like to hear your problem and what you are doing to correct the install with your carpet?
These people do not care I can tell you with all sincerely do not use a home improvement store to do the install for you.
You can buy the carpet from them but not use their installers.

I am working on a job where the pool company recommended a salt chlorinator in lieu of the standard chlorine filtering system. Supposedly, the system turns salt in the water into chlorine eliminating the need to buy chlorine. You only have to add salt to replace the salt lost due to splash out, backwash, etc.

Does anyone have one of these systems on your pool and do you like how they work?

Or, does anyone on yahoo answers install pools and what do you think of this type of system?

I come from a family where my father taught me not only how to cut the grass, but how to clean aswell. I learned on my own how to cook. Now I prepare a hot dinner for my wife if I get home before she does. So ladies does your man do this for you or is it something you wish he would do? Do you feel that you would open up more if you did not have to do everything around the house sometimes?

I live in southern Kentucky Zone 6, and the containers would be in full sun. I don't need any thing really large, I would prefer fruit trees but would also like blossoming trees. I enjoy all types of plants. I grow my veggies in containers as well as a large variety of flowers, but I have no experience with trees or shrubs yet.
