Besides feeding the Possums, rubber snakes, moth balls, Poss Off spray, home made sprays etc,(none of these worked) could this be the answer of detering them. Any snake or Possum experts out there?

I have caught many possums in a live trap. You can buy them at Home Depot, feed stores, and on line. It's basically a wire cage open at one end. You put a attractive food (whatever it is the possums are after) in the back of the cage, and when the possum steps on a metal plate, the door of the trap closes behind it. Then you have to get rid of the possum, by taking it somewhere far away and releasing it. Be aware that they do have sharp, nasty teeth! I suspect that removing the problem critters is a more effective strategy than deterring them. The only other suggestion I would have would be if you can keep a dog in the area. I would worry a little about my dogs being bitten, but they have so far not had any injuries in their encounters with possums. (The funniest one was when they brought a possum into the laundry room. It was just laying there looking dead, but when I left to get a shovel, it got up and ran away - just playing possum!)

Probably not.
If a possum can catch a snake, it will eat it.
Best thing to do to get rid of possums is to trap them.

the only thing i can think of is if they are getting into trash at night , is to make sure there isn't anything they can get into.it might not be a bad idea to check your local game commission to see what they can offer.
