I understand that incandescent light bulbs have fluorescent equivalents. A 60W incandescent can be replaced by a fluorescent one around 13-15W. My questions is: Since you're using less than the maximum watts, can you use a 20W (and so on up) fluorescent bulb to replace the 60W incandescent one?

Or is the new fluorescent one (up to 15W) all I can replace it with?

Thx

i have one, but it's 5500 btu. whatever that means. lol

and my house is set up so its all open with very high ceilings. (like a garage, only higher) and my kitchen and bathroom/living room is all sort of open..

now.. the air conditioner i have right now only cools off maybe a 6x7 space. thats like a damn cubicle. and all my windows are closed.. but i dont know how old it is and i changed the filter in it, and its still not working well..

and yes, i have a ceiling fan it doesnt help

can someone tell me if a bigger one like 8 or 10,000 would work better coz my walls arent insulated and i dont know if getting a bigger one would help if the heats going to come in anyway.

the dimensions of my whole house (excluding mark's room and the loft) are 35 ft x 25ft

should i just get another small one and have 2 running - i need to get the most energy efficient one there

our house is back to woods and there is a creek down below in the woods. This year the mosquitoes is worse than ever. We can't even step outside in the yard anymore.

I've tried sprays. It doesn't help much.

I heard that there are some plants that can repel mosquitoes. What are they? Do they really work? How to plant them?

I'm open to any suggestions that can help control the mosquitoes.

Thank you very much.

I am in the midst of Central and Northern NY working to build a house. We have just started the well drilling process. As with everything thus far I am having bad luck. The well guy is at 180' and still no water. This praticly maximizes my well budget. What should I do, have him go deeper? Abandon the project , accept my loses and buy a house of the market. Abandon all hope. What do you think yahoo people?

I didn't see the plant when it was alive (dead now its winter), just a couple of dried stalks left in garden but lots of see-through skeletonlike papery lantern all over the place with flaky sort of seeds in them. A few shriveled leaves that are left look sort of fuzzy with serrated edges. Couldn't tell you if there had been any sort of fruit or berry inside the lanterns while they were still on the bush. I think it comes up every year though i didn't plant it...

We have never heard of these people & we have lived in the home for over 13 yrs. These are not the previous owners. LOTS of mail from refinance companies & banks that show these people as owners. Banks don't have a clue what to do & are not helpful.

Has anyone heard of this?

I am moving into a dorm in August, and as strange as it sounds, I am absolutly terrified of the idea of having plan walls. Does anyone have any ideas in what I can do to make them a little... a lot less bare. I can't paint them.

So far we have come up with
pinning sheets on the walls.
placemats
bulliten boards
