It tripped last night too, but we let is sit for a bit then turned it back on and it worked all night... But today stays on for a bit then (trips) shuts off. Not getting cool in here??? Help!! It's HOT

between the ac and other electronics in your house you are drawing too much electricity for one circuit therefore tripping it. Either add other circuit or move some of your electronics to a different circuit

I noted some solutions suggesting that you'll be able to replace your breaker. enable me be completely sparkling - do no longer replace the breaker with a significantly better circuit breaker. A circuit breaker journeys because too a lot electrical energy is being 'requested' and, as a secure practices degree, the breaker journeys. The circuit breaker persistently tripping and also you declaring that that is warm is a hallmark of a severe challenge. My suggestion: call a AC repairman and function the unit professionally serviced / replaced. (in case you only enable the breaker proceed to be tripped / off, i do not imagine you want to call an electrician - yet)

Hard to tell without being there with an ammeter. It could be that the circuit breaker is deteriorating and won't carry the load. It could also be that the A/C unit is drawing too much load. If it was working properly in the recent past, I'd almost bet on a bad circuit breaker. Only a tech with proper tools can tell for certain. If you don't know the tech, get a second opinion if his suggested "fix" is expensive.

circuit breaker trips when you attempt to draw too much current through it. This could be happening for a number of reasons as follows:
1) you have a short circuit. maybe a bare wire somewhere.
2) your circuit breaker is sized too small for the HVAC unit.
3) you have too many electric device operating on the same circuit.

Sounds like a job for AC repair man if you're not familiar with working with electricity.

There are several reasons for this and too numerous to try to list. The one likely reason would be you are experiencing a "brown out" (low voltage condition) in your area. There can be other things as I have mentioned that can cause damage to your system if you keep resetting the breaker. You should call for service before you cause damage to your system.

sounds to me like the condenser needs to be cleaned. call the ac guy in your home town and have him come out.........dont hose the condenser yourself.....you can flatten the fins easily and trash the unit
