Women's Health - April 2007

I just got implants and my Dr. was not professional and didn't talk to my friend after surgery on how to take care of me and how to do compression exercises, pocket quadrant exercises, implant message... I have been researching on how to prevent capsule whatever and problems with healing. I really don't want any problems or to spend more money to fix them. I keep reading about how other Dr.'s tell their patients to do these exercises, and I haven't found any websites that show or tell me how to do them.

So please if you know about how to do these or have pictures you can post somewhere to show and explain how to do them, it would be very helpful. Thank you soo much.

we are a world full of pill poppers...how can taking pills be healthy ..putting chemicals in our bodys ...yes I have been there with prescription pills...doctors kept giving me...till one day they decided to stop them ..that was about 12 years a go..and got me to talk to a therapist..the best thing they ever did for me...they go on about meat causing breast cancer...I believe it is the pill ..or hrt...chemicals again.....what do you think???

Hi, I am wishing to perform a little experiment on myself - its completely safe no worries. I am on the combined pill loestrin 30, and was wodering if its still possible to be ovulating whilst on it and taking it properly. It is known that pregnancies occur whilst on the pill and wondered if my body is still ovulating or not, due to the pill. I was wondering, would me taking the pill have an affect on the OPK, I mean would the hormones in the pill that get absorbed into my body make the test valid or invalid? What do you guys think? Should I perform this little experiment? Any thoughts, contributions and ideas welcome.

About 4 months ago i was told was 8 kg under weight! I weighed 45kg & im around 1m63 (& im 18)and i dont think that has changed much since then. I dont look ill or anything, im petite and suit my size but how can i put on weight, i stuff my face at home, i am constantly starving & at college theres not much to eat cause i dont like what there is & were not allowed to bring in our own food. Ive been drinking atleast 2milkshakes a day with full fat milk for about 2 months, and nothing is working, the main area i urgently need to put fat on is my breasts.. haha
Any suggestings?

i have sagging breast, yes ofcourse i have 3 kids. cud i get back my breast as firm as before? i dont want any operation. but pls tell me some remedies for this. do you have any excercise for this to become firm again ?

I'm 16 and my boyfriend (17) and i just started having sex it hurt alot the 1st time and for a while after, it still hurts alot at the start but after our 4th time ive been hurting alot on and off for the past few of days (2day is 3 days later), its kind of a sharp pain, and i feel kind of tighter. The pain comes at random times, but when i was at a dance class it was very painfull.
we use condoms and we are each others 1st sexual partner.
whats causing all this pain?

My mom was born on Apr14.. Every since then she has had the worst of luck in april. April 14th 95 had knee surgery go wrong. April 12th 96 house burnt to ground just two days b4 bday and three weeks from validictorian of class.. 97" became ill with unkown pain.April 98 found out was three kidney stones lodged. April 99 totaled car. April 22nd 05 daughter was killed...... Do u have a bad karma month?

Well, I was pregnant and I already gave birth. It's been almost 4 months since I gave birth. I had my period already on the 1st of March and I thought I was supposed to have it again this month, but I didn't. I did have sex but he didn't "leak" in me. What is the meaning of my missed period? Am I just adjusting to be regular?

It's 3:20am and I haven't been able to sleep all night due to the discomfort of what I thought was a UTI. But In the last hour I've been to the washroom 3 times, and this last time after a serious poop, I had a fair amount of blood on the toilet paper. I think it's coming from my vagina, but I can't be sure. I just finished my period a week ago and am on the pill.

So....is it safe to wait till morning to go to a walk-in clinic, or do I have to brave the ER?

Ok so my sister colored her hair about a month ago and just recently her hair has been falling out. I personally do not think it is from her coloring her hair but I have never experienced anything like this. She is a FT nurse and the only nurse in the practice she works at so she is over worked and always stressed not to metion she has started going back to school. I have told her that she is too stressed and that may be the reason for her hair falling out. It's not patches of hair but it is HUGE clumps and by far not normal amounts. and it happens all day long. if you touch her head its a guarantee your hand will be full of hair. she is freaking out. I have told her to call her dr but she is scared. has anyone experienced this before? how can I soothe her? why do you think her hair is falling out?

I'm a very underexperienced 16 y/o, mind you. Recently there's been certain types of guys that I like & when I see this type, I get aroused and start fantasizing.... I dont know if this is normal but I take it way too far & begin hallucinating about brushing up on them or I secretly stare at them or I even smile provocatively when they sit next to me..... I just started a prescription of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo five days ago, and I've been feeling nauseated the entire time.

Several years ago, I was on Yasmine for about three months and felt nauseated the entire time... so that's why my doctor prescribed me with the low hormone pills this time.

Is it normal for me to still be feeling this nauseous? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Once the initial burning subsides its okay but then when the sex is over my insides feel really raw and sore. I think I may be allergic to spermicide seeing how I've never had a problem wearing latex gloves. I tried to prove this theory by buying the contraceptive inserts (disolving spermicide) and it really really burned. This time it not only burned me but also my partner. Is this an allergy to spermicide? What are the chances we are both allergic to it??? We refuse to have sex without condoms with spermicide so any answers that could help would be great.

In chapter 12 of Leviticus, it says that a women giving birth to a boy would be unclean for 7 days and a further 33 days. If it was a female child, it was to be 14 days plus 66days..why the difference, this seems more than a little "odd" to me.
Also Leviticus chapter 15 verses 19 to 24 talk about mentruation women being unclean, and about objects she lies/sits on being unclean and anyone touching these objects or her being unclean. Why? Menstrual blood poses no greater disease transmittion risk than other blood. This seems particularly harsh and unfair, especially if God created women and gave them periods in the first place!
Am interested in hearing from anyone, but especially Christians.

i was a normal healthy 19 year old girl. two years ago from today, i was in the hospital. i had mono, with hemophagocytic syndrome, which obviously led to many problems. i had ARDS, a mild staph infection, and i had some adrenal insufficiency. all due to the hemophagocytic syndrome. i was hospitalized for a month in the ICU. and i came out fine. no complications for two years now. well i did a follow up with my OB/GYN and my pap smear was abnormal but the tests came out neg. i had gotten normal periods after i got out of the hospital. no spotting in between periods, nothing that was "abnormal" to me. the last time i had my period was dec. 27th. and it was normal. i havent had a period since then. i had another pap done two weeks ago and its abnormal but tests are neg. i went in today for a pelvic ultrasound..they found no follicles on my ovaries. apparently my ovaries arent functioning.(no cysts) he also said there is an infection in my tube. but didnt gimme meds.

I usually have heavier periods, and sometimes I get cramps so bad Im almost in tears. Well this \ period (started monday) my period started out light then got heavier. The second day I had really bad cramps...I had a therma care wrap, took 2 12 hr relief midol and tried relaxing best I could and all of it helped but after being in A LOT of pain for like 3-4 hours. Yesterday and today Ive noticed there are a lot more clots then usual, some a little bigger. The cramps werent that bad if at all after that one day...is this a cause for concern you think? I have been under a lot of stress, I just lost my grandma last week Im not sure if that has anything to do with it. Im also not on any hormonal birth control. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

**Also, Ive had cysts (that were normal was just at the docs a few months ago) not sure if they affected periods or whatnot

I have a 15 yr old daughter who is already wearing a size 36G bra. We have to have her fitted at a very pricey store where her bras are close to 125.00 each, even more expensive than that when it comes to the sports bras. She is a very active teenager...she swing dances, is in weightlifting class, etc...but her breasts are just too much for her to handle. She has a hard time running, they just get in the way, and of course, I have 30 yr old men hitting on her because with breasts like her's, there's no way she's only 15.

So, I guess I'm curious as to how old is the typical female when their breasts stop growing...and if a breast reduction is done at her age, and if she's not done growing, with she continue to grow after the reduction and then defeat the purpose of having it done to begin with?

This is definitely an issue right now. She will no longer be in weightlifting class after May 15, and I'm positive that class is the only thing preventing back problems.
