It's 3:20am and I haven't been able to sleep all night due to the discomfort of what I thought was a UTI. But In the last hour I've been to the washroom 3 times, and this last time after a serious poop, I had a fair amount of blood on the toilet paper. I think it's coming from my vagina, but I can't be sure. I just finished my period a week ago and am on the pill.

So....is it safe to wait till morning to go to a walk-in clinic, or do I have to brave the ER?

It sounds like you would be fine to wait until morning. Drink plenty of fluid and stay away from too much sugar.

When I had a complicated bleeding situation like the one that you are describing I would just take and put my finger in to my vagina and see if anything came out (I have to do this for medical reasons due to some medical issues I have that can cause some pretty strange symptoms sometimes) as being red then I know that the blood is coming from the vagina.

But this situation needs to be evaluated by your dr to see what could be causing the problem.

If the bleeding is a once off & a small amount you should make an appointment with the doctor, but don't panic. I had a similar problem after having my baby & it was a burst haemorroid. As for the pain in your uterine area have you thought it may be constipation? It does funny things to your body.
