I usually have heavier periods, and sometimes I get cramps so bad Im almost in tears. Well this \ period (started monday) my period started out light then got heavier. The second day I had really bad cramps...I had a therma care wrap, took 2 12 hr relief midol and tried relaxing best I could and all of it helped but after being in A LOT of pain for like 3-4 hours. Yesterday and today Ive noticed there are a lot more clots then usual, some a little bigger. The cramps werent that bad if at all after that one day...is this a cause for concern you think? I have been under a lot of stress, I just lost my grandma last week Im not sure if that has anything to do with it. Im also not on any hormonal birth control. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

**Also, Ive had cysts (that were normal was just at the docs a few months ago) not sure if they affected periods or whatnot

I'm assuming that your periods aren't normally as heavy and painful as you're describing this cycle to be.

Certainly stress could mess with your hormone levels and change your period, but the thing that concerns me is the cysts. When your doctor told you that you had them, did he put you on a birth control as treatment? If so, this hormonal change could be the cause of your change in cycle. If you're still on this birth control, I would go back to your doctor and discuss trying a different birth control. If you're not already on birth control, I would go to your doctor anyway to talk about getting on a low-dose birth control to help you have more normal and less disruptive periods.

You could also try taking iron supplements or eating foods that are iron-rich to help with cramps! These foods include green-leafy vegetables like broccoli or spinach. If you can't stand to eat your greens, you can get a bottle of iron supplements for under $5 at your local pharmacy.

that's the tale of my existence, that's been that way considering the fact that i replaced right into a teenager and now i'm 40 3. once you're anemic you could think of roughly taking an iron supplement. The clots and cramps are person-friendly, yet whilst they're too great, and are coming each and all of the time, you may have a condition noted as endometriosis or fibroid. i could consult with my Dr and see if he thinks they could do an extremely sound. consistent with possibility a start administration pill to regulate and decrease the bleeding could be an concept. I even have had to get 3 inner /exterior extremely sounds as properly as blood paintings, as I had an "enlarged uterus".. and severe soreness, which finally replaced right into a effect of countless cysts in the time of my uterus and ovaries, stunning now 2 on the left area. they arrive and bypass and can burst on their very own, yet reason soreness as properly. i'm getting loopy nausea as properly, which has to do with the hormones. So I quite have been interior the direction of the wringer, with the objective to speak LOL. Thank God, they do no longer seem to be benign. best needs! And take reliable care of your self. examine my link for extra info from fda.

Clots are normal. If you're worried, you can go to the doctor, but it's probably just stress. You're in pain emotionally, it becomes physical. I've found that exercising mid-cycle, like around day 10, really reduces my cramps and PMS symptoms... it's worth trying. Try walking for 30-60 minutes a day, 3-5 days a week, for one month and see if it helps.

Now I don't know if you have this or not, but my fiance's sister has pretty much exactly what you're describing. Very bad cramps, very heavy periods and she has endometriosis. You should talk to your doc about this and see if you could perhaps have this as well.

You could just be stressed out though and it's messing with your period.
If this happens again, you should get ahold of your doctor and get checked out.

You need to see your doctor to check and see if you have endometriosis or fibroids, which can cause painful periods and very painful menstrual cramps. It can also cause heavy bleeding during your period. Small clots are normal during period but if they are large than you need to see your doctor to make sure it wasn't a missed miscarriage. Cysts won't make you have heavy menstrual cycles but it could cause pain.
