Ok so my sister colored her hair about a month ago and just recently her hair has been falling out. I personally do not think it is from her coloring her hair but I have never experienced anything like this. She is a FT nurse and the only nurse in the practice she works at so she is over worked and always stressed not to metion she has started going back to school. I have told her that she is too stressed and that may be the reason for her hair falling out. It's not patches of hair but it is HUGE clumps and by far not normal amounts. and it happens all day long. if you touch her head its a guarantee your hand will be full of hair. she is freaking out. I have told her to call her dr but she is scared. has anyone experienced this before? how can I soothe her? why do you think her hair is falling out?

OMG
She is a nurse????

Make her take her own advice that she no doubt gives to her patients:

ASK A DOCTOR!

Hope she is okay!

I can tell u a friend of mine experienced this...after he lost ALOT of his hair he decided to c a Dr finally, the Dr said it was stress related, i think he could have took some drugs to relieve the stress if he went earlier and it wouldnt have gone this far...she better see a Dr soon coz it will look really ugly and shell have a bold head with little spots that have bits of hair in them, the hair will grow back out, as it was before but tell her to c a Dr ASAP...

I know she's scared but she really needs to see her dr about this to find out what is going on because it is true that stress could be a problem but as the last poster said something more like a thyroid problem going on could be causing this. Only the dr can help her to try and figure this out.

As for reassuring her just let her know that you are there for her and will be glad to help her in whatever way you possibly can when it comes to support.

Severe hair problems may cause anguish.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Sounds like stress, stress will cause your hair to fall out, she does need to see a dr tho! Cuz it could be something more like her thyroid, Has she been eating. Eating disorders can cause that too!

I used to have a bald spot when I was little. It was from rolling around on the ground too much. Maybe she's pulling her hair out? Take her to a doctor.

Does she have joint pain or headaches or other symptoms? She might have lupus.
