Women's Health - January 2007

My girlfriend had to take the morning after pill last month, about a week after she had what seemed to be a normal but very early period. She was due to have one in the first week of Jan some 3-4 weeks after but she didnt so at the end of that week we did 2 pregnancy tests which were both negative.

If her normal period was due it would of happened almost 2 weeks ago but she has had nothing at all.

Is this normal and is she likely to have her next period on time?

I had a miscarriage two months ago after a brief 4-week pregnancy. A blood test confirmed the pregnancy was over. At the start of my next period, I began birth control pills (Kariva). The period quit that same day, then there was a little spotting a week later.

My next period, at the end of the first course of pills, came with terrible cramps on the second full day. The flow of blood stopped. I was nearly immobile, weak and pale, and after about an hour had to throw up. Then my uterus was able to expel what had been clogging it. The blood surrounding it was dark, dark red. The thing was flat, rubbery, ropy, dark red but laced with grey, about two and a half inches long, almost that wide. I felt fine immediately (but tired).

Yes, I know this would be a good question to ask my doctor. But I'm starting here. All you amateur gynecologists out there--what's going on? Should I be worried?

im 14 years old and when i was 12 this guy austin asked me out (may2005) i said yes and we dated happily for 7 months then it got all messy and we were on and off then we gave it a try in feb 2006 we diod it good for a month then went wrong then in the summer we went out i got jealous and i sort of went on his myspaceand talkd to the girl i thought he liked and ruined their friend ship but its goood now with them last night he called me but i couldnt talk and called him back. we talked for an hour and then he got to talking about suicide cuz he had s\nothing to live for so we were both crying and he asked me out cuz we both mised eachother should we date and we talked about doing a few things oral to him andme, and well fingers and hands and stuff. should i or am i too young im unsure if i should or not

Im trying to watch my weight and have recently been making sure I have at least 5 fruit a day.

What I want to know is as I have PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and I should watch my blood sugar to keep it down shoud I be eating all this fruit cos fruit contains natural sugar. Or is it ok if its natural?

A couple weeks ago, I had a bruise on my right lower calf, because someone had bumped into me and scraped their shoe really hard on my leg. The bruise is now gone, but when I run my finger over where it used to be, there is a lump. It's not sticking out of my leg. What is it? Should I check with the doctor when I go next week (even though I'm going for a totally different reason)?

On the 13th of this month, I noticed a type of mucus when I wipe myself,with a small amount of lood . Then the next day it was more blood which was very light red this has gone on for 4 days could and it ocured before my period . Could this be implantation Bleeding.

Im nineteen one hundred thirty some odd pounds with a 34 A cup bra. I have always loved my breasts but lately i have been feelin insecure. My girlfriends say that since im so tall that they look bigger cuz one of my overweight friends is a 36 b and looks like an a. Is 34 A a nice cup size? i have a discharge from my nipples and it is a grey color sometimes its whitish and sticky ?????? no pain a little tendernish .... and cant be pregnant i had a tubal...... i went to the DR he says its normal had a mamo showed normal .......took an sample did test all test showed normal! I have been on zovia birth control for 2 months, my period this month is very different than what I'm used to. I'm not cramping as much and my flow is light overall, but the blood seems to be "older", its darker color and drier than what I'm used to. The doctor said that it would help lighten my flow and make me cramp less, but this is a very dramatic change. Is this what they call spotting or this is how my period will be on the pill? I'm worried, but I also can be a bit paranoid about these things. What do you think?

Even if i have just a few drinks I feel completely braindead and out of it the next day. Its not a hangover either. I know what that is. I don't feel like I want to throw up...I just feel like half of my brain is missing and like I can't do much that day. Is there something wrong with my health that I might not know about that is making me feel this way after I drink?

This is really really embarassing but i dont know what to do.
