Some of the three-day antibiotic regimens actually work in your system for up to 10 days. Best to call your doctors office, tell them what's going on, and see what they say.

If you are still having symptoms, call your doctor as the medicine provided may not have been appropriate for your strain. Certain antibiotics fight certain strains better and they may need to assign another antibiotic to you if the first did not take care of your problem. The cranberry juice is an excellent choice as well as cran-adolphillis pills which can be purchased at a local health foods or vitamin store. For instant relief of symptoms, you can also get an over counter drugs such as Uristat which will discolor your urine, but provide some relief. This is also available as a prescription from your doctor in a stronger version, so please phone them. Most antibiotics kick in within 24 hours, but stay in your system for 2 weeks.

I use 100% pomegranate juice. If that doesn't work try alternating between grapefruit, pomegranate, and cranberry. It sounds like you were on the Z-pak, be care full with that. It's fast, but it should not be overused. If juice doesn't work your doctor may prescribe a sulfa antibiotic. The best way to treat a uti is prevention. I drink a small glass of 100% pomogranate juice daily.

You could have developed a yeast infection as a result of taking the medicine, but you may have been resistant to the antibiotics. You may need a different one.

You may have thrush, which is sometimes caused by some antibiotics.

You can get a cream or spray from a pharmacy to relieve this condition.

I think you should get some more pills then. It doesn't seem like the first round worked, so you might need another go.
