You can try adding 100 to 200 mcg's of selenium and that may help.

If you are extremely tired, you might want to look into trying Armour thyroid. Armour usually helps symptoms like fatigue, hairloss, depression, and muscle and joint aches.

Changes in eating habits or exercise might help in some circumstances, but it depends on the underlying cause of the hypothyroid condition. The easiest thing to do is to take a thyroid hormone pill (like Levothyroxine). There is really no reason to suffer from this condition since it is so easily treated in most cases, and the medicine usually doesn't have any side effects. I work in a office with 12 people, and 2 of the people are taking thyroid hormone without any problems.

Certain exercises and foods can help your energy level, but they may not completely overcome the symptoms. If you don't want to take medication to treat the problem, you might find a solution by trial and error. This link has some things you can do:

Beets are supposed to be an energy food. Maybe you have iron poor blood. Drink grape juice or eat liver. But most of all, DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!! Learn to drink a full glass of water at a time. Work up to it or it will give you a pain in the stomach. Don't just sip at it. Work up to being able to down a 18 oz glass. It revives you. Also sleeping for more than 7 or 8 hours a night can make you sluggish.

why not just get some thyroid medication? Are you taking something like Levoxyl? If not, this can cause other hormonal imbalances in your body that gives you symptoms of low energy or fatigue.
Otherwise, a healthy diet with protein is important. (4-8 ounces twice a day)

Something like this you MUST have a Doctor run tests. Then a proper Rx, usually in a mcg dosage, is given. There are many different dosages for the different levels. A good vitamin and extra B vitamins can help. But please see a good MD.
