I have been on zovia birth control for 2 months, my period this month is very different than what I'm used to. I'm not cramping as much and my flow is light overall, but the blood seems to be "older", its darker color and drier than what I'm used to. The doctor said that it would help lighten my flow and make me cramp less, but this is a very dramatic change. Is this what they call spotting or this is how my period will be on the pill? I'm worried, but I also can be a bit paranoid about these things. What do you think?

This is a side affect of the pill. When I started my new pills I had the same issue for about 3 months, then I went back to normal. I was so concerned I even called my doctor and she informed me that was to be expected.

Call your doctor and ask her. If in another month or 2 things don't change, and you are uncomfortable with it, talk to your doctor about switching your pills.
