I have Strabismus, had 5 surgeries that fixed it enough to where it's not "so" obvious, but because it wasn't corrected in time, I am forced to "choose" which eye I want to look out of. I don't have the ability to look out of both eyes at the same time, I have to choose one. So is this why I can never see the 3-D imagine on those "Magic Eye" pictures? Do you have to use 2 eyes together to see the imagine? Also, I am unable to see 3D images in movies (ie: Jaws) with those plastic glasse- I can only choose if I want to watch the movie with a red tint or a blue tint! Also, I am 28... Can I train my brain to use both eyes at the same time? It seems so impossible. Thanks for any advice!!

Eye Clinic?
Boots?
Optical Express?
Vision Express?
Spec Savers?
D & A?

Who do you prefer and why?

I like spec savers as they seem more interested in your eyesight than in how much they can sting you for on a pair of glasses. Good prices & quick service.

Ok so I wear contacts, and I had wore them for about 4 days before I took them out last night for the first time. I'm not supposed to wear these kind in overnight or anything. So when I was taking them out last night i noticed that one eye had red around it. Like next the colored part of my eye there was a red pacth on the white part and the surrounding parts looked kind of yellowish. So now I don't think it's a very good idea to put my contacts back in. I lost my glasses,So now i'm really blind. I hate not being able to see i have reallllllllly bad eyes. What can I do now???

I'm getting my first pair of glasses tomorrow. The doctor told me that I'm nearsighted, but she never mentioned contacts. Is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to get them? What are the best kind from your experience?

I have been having my prosthetic eye for 5 out of my 14 years and until i reached middle school, had been having problems with kids calling my "crosseyed, lazy eye, etc" and is very frustrating because i can't tell them i have a fake eye as my excuse so i just ignore them, but inside i have the guilt of them asking me that and not answering them. I was wondering how much it will cost for getting a prosthetic eye that moves like a normal eye. Also, anyone elese that has to deal with similar situations? Thanks.

A couple months ago my optometrist said I was borderline after she did the air puff test, but left it at that (she didn't seem too concerned and she told me there are other reasons I might have come up borderline). Since then, I've had several people tell me I should still visit an ophthamologist for further testing. What should I do? There is no history of glaucoma in my family, and I am a 26-year-old, healthy, near-sighted Caucasian female. Thanks!

as a child he kept taken his glasses with the eye patch over the good eye off. Now his good eye is on the blink, he can see with the lazy eye if he holds the newspaper very close.
Do you think anything can be done for the lazy eye now, he is a retired man in his 60's
thanks in advance?

It would be interesting to show my 20/15 husband what the world looks like to me, Ms. 20/6000, without my glasses. Could this be achieved by taking a picture from a film camera and adjusting the focus until it meets MY focus level? Then again, I don't think we have lenses strong enough to reach that.

Thanks everyone!

When they say 2 weeks, does it matter if I wear them everyday? For example, if I open a pack and within the 2 weeks I only use them 4 or 5 times, should I throw them away and open a new pack? Or is it for 14 days of actual use of the lenses? Thanks for your help!

I'm 24 and I've had strabismus my whole life. My right eye is crossed in and my left eye is dominate. I have vision in both eyes though and I see 20/20 with my left eye.

However, I have an issue where surgery is not an option for me. I've gone to several doctors and they all tell me there is nothing I can do to straighten my eyes besides surgery.

My concern is that my left eye (good eye) crosses when I'm relaxed. I can still control it completely, but if I don't consentrate or focus on something it will cross. So basically, if I completely relax my eyes they will both look at my nose.

Can this be a problem? I can't have surgery so if my left eye gets too weak I'll have a big problem because I have very limited control over the movement of my right eye.

A few days ago I got contact lenses. I'm doing very well with putting them in and taking them out. I can not feel the right lense. But the left lense feels like it is rubbing againt my lower eye lid. Is it normal to feel this discomfort? It's not so much of an ache as it is an annoyance. Should I call my doctor right away?

Today, when i woke up, i rubbed my eyes kind of hard.
Now i see a small gray-ish line that moves with my left eye when i look at something white, like a piece of paper.
What is it? Will it ever go away?
