I am nearsighted, so i can read fine without glasses or contacts. But when i had contacts for a few months to help me see far away, I noticed that i read slower. Did anyone else ever have that problem or do you think it was all in my mind?

I have an adjustment period of about 24 hours when switching back and forth from contacts to glasses. I have the most success with contacts. Make sure your contacts are clean and your hands are clean when handling them. Any kind of oil or build up can effect the way you see through the lense

I do have trouble reading while wearing contacts but I think it might have more to do with my age (48) than anything else. I'm nearsighted, too, but this problem only occurs with the contacts. I can read just fine while wearing my regular glasses or nothing at all. I know being able to see well close up is a little unusual for someone my age and I believe it's the nearsightedness that's causing it.
