Actually TV is hard on the eyes, especially in a dark room because the lens of the eye keeps adjusting to the changes in light and brightness from the TV just like the lens of a camera adjusts to lightness and dark. I do not know if you would completely lose your sight but it can impair your eyesight.

No, it is a common mistake.
Poor vision or deterioration in vision is caused primarily by the eyes lens to be misshaped causing the light to focus in front of or behind the retina (also can be toroidal or astigmatic causing two focal points perpendicular to each other) or by a genetic disorder such as glaucoma or macular degeneration. Sitting too close to a TV or monitor will do little if anything permanent to you vision.

No, not exactly. It could trigger eye sore, dryness or any other illness due to tired eyes. Don't do too much exposures, let your eyes relax and your TV or players cool to avoid or refrain damage to your eyes and to your set.

Your eyes may feel strained from staring at the screen for long periods. Briefly looking away at something closer or further may help to stop them straining.

you can try and get your dog to track objects such as a favorite toy. Try closer and farther. As for the people making jokes about dogs wearing glasses I DID put glasses on my poor old blind dog and he was able to see a few things on the floor. it's certainly NOT funny.

No, it does NOT work like that. Don't let your parents mess with your head.

At a worse case scenario, you may get a little headache. Watching yoo much also has no guarentee that you will need glasses, either.

Just don't let it dominate your life.

No, but you can damage it enough to be close to losing your eye sight.
