i have been having insomnia for 10 years now.... i recently take Remeron (as prescribed by my family doctor) and it helps tremendously...

but without Remeron, i can't sleep.. ( i haven't tried another medication)... i tried all the usual sleep hygiene... eg, no caffeine, the sleeping environment is perfectly comfortable..

i simply couldn't turn off my brain at night... i don't know why... Beside Remeron (or other sleeping pill), is cognitive behaviour therapy the answer?

please help me!!!!

She is in her 80's and she lies constantly. It's getting worse all the time. No one in the family is in need of any of her money but she acts like someone is after it. Anytime she buys something new she makes up big elaborate lies about why she had to buy it, or else some story about how someone just gave her something for free. She tells everyone she is broke when it is very obvious that she is not. We can't figure out why she is doing this. She even makes up stories for normal things like new shoes, or medical things like hearing aids. What's going on with her? She does see a doctor for regular check ups, but I don't know if he is aware of this behavior. Is it something that the family should discuss with him or is it best to stay out of it? She acts normal other than the lying, which seems to gradually get worse. Is her money making her paranoid?

Childhoods are ruined by bullying older siblings where parents refuse to discipline the bully. When bullying happens in the home there's no escape and health implications are enormous. So why don't people talk about sibling bullying or pass it off as rivalry instead of facing up to the reality that many siblings bully on a daily basis?

hi
i think i am showing mild signs ocd and fear of germs and contamination in particular.
baiscally i think my ocd is a result of reading about hiv/aids etc, since i ahve read about this, i fear to touch anything that is white ( thinking it will be semen) or red( thinking its blood) also whenever i see a wet surface i fea rit is urine.
this is very difficult to live with especially at work where i deal with keyboard , mouse etc and there are always white particles lyinga round ( on a black key board ). i ams cared tot ucj surfaces which i think may be affected

my question is are there any fellow ocd sufferers who suffer from similar problems and how do you deal with thme in the workplace??

thanks /

I have suffered from depression for about 20 or so years. My employer knew about it when they offered me the job. This year has been very bad for me, so I have had quite a bit of time off with it.
With the new disability act in place, and with it covering mental health, does anyone know if I can be sacked if things don't improve soon?

I understand the "possible" side effects- but has anyone ever witnessed/ experienced them.- seizure, stroke, liver damage etc...

I enjoy drinking socially on occasion.

In the commercial the elderly gentleman, I think, used a walker; had a poor gait; and complained of memory loss and not feeling like himself. He's diagnosed; takes the medication; and then he's himself again. He's walking unassisted; proper gait; he's pleasant and smiling. I would like to know what was the diagnosis and what medication he took that made him better.
