You don't say how long you've been at the job you mentioned, but a change in sleep pattern is normal when we adjust the time of day we sleep. Sometimes it can take a couple of months to get used to a new schedule. Try setting an alarm and getting up at a certain time (say 8-9 hours) each day after you work. Eventually you'll establish a pattern, and not feel so dragged out.

Thats just it you cant think negitive thoughts always think positive and start your day out with some yoga or some kind of mind control get an alarm and set it to wake you up earier than you have to go to work and get up when it goes off dont hit the snooze just use the counting system count to 3 and no matter what you say you absolutely have to get up once you start the one.... twooo............ and then tell yourself that if you dont get up on the three count tha tyou will explode then say it ..... threethen jump out of bed and go take shower then most important make yourself a good full breakfast and take a multi vitamin and maybe some extra vitamin C and E to help boost your immune system and this will make you feel much more energy when you get home try to not watch tv when you get home either if you have some kind of project you might have wanted to start then go to the hardware store on your way home in other word your own self control is wheather you want to go and just be a tv couch patatoe or if you want to be a doer and a leader

Dear Friend,
I used to work night shift as a nurse. Some people had a biological shift, and were able to manage. Their friends were other night shift people, since those were the folks that were awake when they were. I didn't adjust, and took another job so I could work days. It made all the difference in the world. If you can find a day job, the best thing to do is be awake during the day and sleep at night.
If all your life is work and sleep, and that is not satisfying to you, make the change required.

I,too, worked the night shift for 11 years and had the same problem. Even though I slept all day, I never felt rested AND it has been proven through studies, that shift workers do have a problem with depression and have more ailments than day people. Our bodies are conditioned to be awake in sunlight hours and rest at nighttime. When our circadian rythms are disrupted, your body gets confused and there is chaos. Two options, that I know of, one is to talk with a sleep therapist in a hospital sleep lab, or two, change shifts. Let your employer know of your problem and request a day shift when it comes available.

This sounds as if your body has not been able to get used to the night shift circadian rhythm. I also tend to think you may be either slightly depressed or deprived of enough sun light that your body is struggling with the lack of sun light you need. 10 to 12 hours of sleep is much too much sleep. I would recommend that when you go to bed you set you clock for 8 hours of sleep and force yourself to get up. Buy one of the special lights that emit sunlight - cost around 300 bucks and it will program your pituitary gland so adjust your body clock to morning. When you have sleep 8 hours sit in the light for an hour and your body with think it is morning and you will be able to reprogram your sleeping to a normal metabolic cycle

I know about this I too work on a helpdesk
Spend a few hours when not taking calls to look for another job on a different shift.
Exercise a bit. I know your tired, but even a walk around the block is a good start it will help you get more energy.
Are you eating well and taking suppliments?

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

if you have a choice, quit your present job at the cal center and look for another job which will allow you to have some time with yourself. enjoy everyday as it comes. the world is so beautiful if you will see it more often rather that just sleeping and working.

if its that bad then i would start looking for another job. maybe take some stress leave right now. that way it will free up time for you to put resumes out there and to be available for interviews. if your not happy, then you need to get happy. you spend at least half your life working, you need to be happy doing so.

This doesn't sound normal. Get a check-up. Maybe you're anemic or diabetic.
