If a doctor wont give you xanax, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE IT. They are the doctor. Let them do their job.

I have never prescribed alprazolam (Xanax) as it is a dangerous drug. Many other similar inexpensive medications exist which work as well but do not share the same problems. The FDA considered removing alprazolam and triazolam from the US market several years ago but too many people were habituated to it. If you physician does not wish to prescribe it they may have a very good reason. Again - many other inexpensive and effective options are available.

It's xanax... and hard to get, because people get addicted to it... it's a controlled substance! If you feel like you really need it, you need to go to a head doctor. There are other ways to deal with anxiety as well, breathing technics and what not! Good luck, I know it is not a fun thing to deal with!

there is probably nothing you can say to get the dr to give it to you. it doesnt help your case to ask for it. go to a psychiatrist who can help you find another med that will help. also see a therapist that will provide you with tools to help with the anxiety attacks.

He probably won't prescribe it because it is a highly addictive drug that should only be taken short term!

Often if you go in just asking for Xanax, they will think you are "drug seeking" and will not give it to you.
