Hi. I was wondering how long do these symptoms last? And how is the best way to go cold turkey? When will you start to feel better? How bad are the cravings for pills when you are completly off of them? Anybody have any stories about when you did it? Been off of them for 3 days...would tapering down still be a good idea when you had 0 now in 3 days? If so how many could a person have to start out with so that it doesn't become a problem again? Any advice/help would be appericated. Thanks.

It hurts so much that I want to go home after just arriving.....I have to wear a certain kind of shoes and they are ok, but my feet continue to hurt. Should I take some sort of medicine while at work or what?

I have had severe headaches in the back of my head since March 2nd. They are not considered migraines by doctors. I have seen an immunologist, 2 neurologists, an allergist, a rheumatologist a chiropractor, plenty of ER doctors, an optometrist, and opthalmologist, a neurosurgeon and countless other doctors. Pain medications like Vicodin and codeine do not affect it. I have had a CT scan and 2 MRIs, all of which were normal (I have considered Chiari malformation, but my MRI/radiation tech doesn't see it in my film. I have had many blood tests, all returning normal(negative). I wore a neckbrace and took muscle relaxants for a week on the demand on my neurosurgeon. I have also had an angiogram to rule out artery damage. My mom wants be to try Botox injections, but they aren't proven so I'm not sure. Any suggestions for help?

Okay, weird circumstances.
Belive me or not, but I am clairvoyant (yes this plays a part in the question)
Now... I was talking to a close friend on the phone and I smelled alcahol and then instantly knew he had been drinking. I asked him and he confirmed that i was correct, directly after that I felt faint so I laied on my back, Suddenly I became....delerious and felt like sombody was holding my hand.... I swore sombody was there, holding my hand.... then the pressure spread over my entire arm and then i could not move my left arm. Then it felt like it was pushed down into the bed, then i could not breathe. the pressure spread over my chest all the way down my right arm all the way to my thumb. suddenly I regained control of my body and now my thumb hurts right where the weird pressure let off..
Things different aobut today:
I have had about 3 times as much sodium as normal.
I drank a 16 oz cappichino
And took 1/4 more of my migraine medicine than normal
had migraine.

ok, well, this morning i woke up, and decided to play on my piano, when suddenly i got a weird, sharp pain near my ring finger, it only lasted a second. now, i have a weird feeling from my elbow to my wrist. it's not painful, but it feels really strange, not really numb.. it's hard to explain, it feels like my veins kinda lost circulation. it's a come and go thing. btw, yesterday, i only played the keyboard for an hour or and hour and a half. I didn't have any pains this morning when i woke up, it just appeared when i was playing the piano. Should I be concerned? Or is it just a passing cramp, or just a way that i slept last night?

Extra info: it bothers me more near my elbow than my wrist. nothing else hurts. i did nothing that would be to hard on my hands. i do take rests. this has only happened to me now. i didn't have any pain yesterday and i slept fine. i could make a tight fist, i have a good grip and i could tell the difference between hot and cold.

I have had a string of health problems over the last year and have been to see 5-6 different doctors to try to obtain a diagnosis. After extensive blood tests, x-rays and evaluations, I have been told that no one knows exactly what is causing my various aches and pains and more than likely I have fibromyalgia.

This diagnosis does not account for the eye inflammation, chronic and severe sinusitus or fluctuations in my SED rate among other things. However, it is the only "diagnosis" that has been offered to explain the chronic pain in my arms.

Since this is all I have to go on, I was hoping someone might have suggestions on how I might be able to manage the symptoms of my "fibromyalgia". I have been told to exercise more. Does anyone know of any other dietary/lifestyle changes that might potentially benefit someone with this condition? I'm also open to suggestion on how to obtain a real, conclusive diagnosis over a catch-all one given because no one is sure what's wrong with me.

My husband had a very successful back surgery 7 years ago. He does have some nerve damage (which he had before the surgery) in one leg, which makes him limp slightly (no pain).

Often, he gets leg cramps in the calf with the nerve damage. These cramps are only at night. He drinks 2-3 liters of water a day, so he is not dehydrated. He takes a multivitamin and typically eats either bananas or other potassium rich foods.

We believe the cramps are due to the nerve damage and/or the back surgery.

Any advice (OTHER THAN DRINKING MORE FLUIDS OR EATING BANANAS/TAKING POTASSIUM) for relief from the cramps would be appreciated, especially from those with back surgery and nerve damage experience.

TIA.

I recently had my bottom two wisdom teeth removed. Now, I find it extremely difficult to swallow anything (even saliva.) Every time I swallow, it feels like I'm swallowing a huge rock or pebble. My dentist told me that I could only eat cold and soft foods. Yet, I am unable to eat anything due to the pain from swallowing. In addition, I was not allowed to gargle anything for it might be harmful to my stitches. However, my wisdom teeth area has not stopped bleeding since the operation. Not even an ice pack will stop it. What should I do to stop the pain of swallowing?

I started with 4x30mg dihydrocodeine a day for severe fibromyalgia 3 months ago. I am recently on 6 a day. Can I for instance rotate it weekly with another opiod eg. Lortab or something to prevent my body getting use to it and need more. 100mg Tramadol does not touch the pain. Nothing else works, except for opiods. Any info?

I have tried drinking more water, taking magnesium supplements, stretching. Sometimes I can see the muscle throbbing. Only ever happens on the left calf muscle - if I panic because of the pain when it happens, it gets much worse so I try to relax. Pain is almost unbearable - I'd rather give birth or cut off my leg ....! Only started last year since the death of a very close family member. Can anyone help please? Thanks.....
