Dynamo - I am trying to figure out why someone would be on oxycodone for 3 years. As highly potent, addictive and strong as that is, I thought 3 months was the maximum.

Just trying to help, but I had a high school classmate who had knee cancer in school - he got the cancer taken care of, but ended up with other problems and was off and on pain killers for a few years. The problem with the prescription pain killers is that they also wreak serious havoc with your digestive system because they are so strong. The ones that he was on, ended up tearing up his liver and kidneys and tragicially he passed away last year because they ended up failing on him from all the painkiller use.

Instead of trying to find something stronger, I would seriously consider having a surgeon or specialist look at your knee and try to come up with a plan to fix it as opposed to constantly using pain meds. After seeing what my friend and his family (and kids) went through, I would do whatever it took to get off them.

Just my .02 cents here. I don't know the entire story and I really am just trying to help.

you should talk to your doctor about this. I believe that your body is so used to your dose, that it doesn't help anymore. most likely, you will have to increase the amount of oxycodone per dose-but i would check with your doctor first.

See your doctor, and have him prescribe a different medication. You are probably developing a tolerance to the Oxycondone.
