Pain & Pain Management - September 2006

[Selected]: All categories Health General Health Care Pain & Pain Management

Last night around midnight I got a massive stitch in my left shoulder. It felt like it was running from my heart down to my elbow on the left side. It is 8am now and the pain is JUST finally going away, meaning I got not sleep. When I bent down the pain would increase until it was hard to breath. I am suppose to be going on vacation for 3 days, leaving this afternoon, and even though the pain is gone, im Afraid it will return. Should I still go see a doctor just to make sure everything is all right? Its on the left side which scares me a tad, due to normally stitchs occur on the right. I am 16, female, average height, average weight. A tad bit out of shape, but I wasn't doing any physical activity when the stitch came.

A friend told me there is a cream that can be applied to numb the area where you are having a tattoo done to make the process virtually pain free. If this is true I would like to know the UK product and how and when it should be applied specifically for tattoo's.

When I look up abdominal pain and bananas, they say to eat bananas because they are bland. Not me. They cause immediate pain. I've experimented with other foods to ensure it is in fact bananas causing it.

Not to be confused with methamphetamine.
METHADONE is a completely different drug- Originally, it was prescribed for people who were dealing with withdrawals from drugs/alcohol. Then some idiot found out it relieved pain.
Now, thanks to people that have abused vicoden and oxyxontin, the MD's are prescribing this to keep the DEA off their backsides...
In effect, they are killing people- old, young and inbetween...
One day soon, if we as consumers do not outcry loudly enough, this tragedy is going to happen to someone in the DEA, or start to happen at the insurance companies- the people and/or their loved ones. Sadly, that is what it will take to make people stop using it... They won't care unless/until it happens to one of their own...

My own stepdaughter died on September 13th from taking this drug. Please tell your family/friends/loved ones NOT to take METHADONE under any circumstances.

QUESTION:
Why is this even being prescribed when all these innocent people are dying??

I am writing a thesis on the availability of said drug and having never been to Mexico, you'll understand the question. In no way am i cunducting illegal smuggling of contraband across international borders or attempting to do so in the future.
